Meghan Markle was reportedly “shocked” that she pulled off one trick with Prince Harry on Masterchef Australia, a body language expert has said. The Duchess of Sussex, 44, appeared on Sunday’s episode of the show as a guest judge, much to the delight of the participants.
The episode was filmed months ago when Harry and Meghan were in Australia for a trip. While the couple had been in Australia together, Harry had other engagements the day Meghan was on the MasterChef set. This means he did not accompany his wife to her filming day.
While Meghan appeared surprised when she was handed a phone with her husband video calling on it, one body language expert has claimed it was “not spontaneous”. Inbaal Honigman, speaking on behalf of Casino.org, said that before the call ended, Meghan looked “shocked” that they had pulled off the video call “surprise”.
She told the Daily Express: “Prince Harry, joining in a video call, sees Meghan’s body language become super proud. Her chin rises with pride, while her eyes soften with the gratitude she feels for her husband for taking the time to ‘pop in’.”
Inbaal continued: “This is clearly not spontaneous; it is planned, and was possibly hard to plan, so her gratitude is understandable.
“Just before they hang up, the top of her nose scrunches in playfulness and disbelief. She’s thankful but also shocked that they pulled this trick off. The scrunched nose is playful and flirty, and is the most natural and personal expression she shares during the whole broadcast.
“For the rest of the show, Meghan attempts to remain classy, elegant and collected, but in front of her beloved husband, she allows herself to be a bit flirty.”
