Prince Harry, Meghan Markle and their children Archie and Lilibet are believed to have flown into the country privately from California, and landed in Birmingham shortly before midday on Wednesday. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are reportedly moving back to the UK temporarily, but it is believed they will not return to official royal duties but will reside in Britain as non-working royals.
Since quitting life as a senior members of the Royal Family in 2020, Harry and his wife Meghan have been living across the pond in their Montecito mansion. But despite ongoing rows of not having taxpayer-funded security which Harry claimed prevented his wife and children returning to the UK, they have decided to come back to his home country.
Now, her former pal and TV presenter, Nick Ede, has addressed Meghan’s true feelings about her UK return. Speaking to Café Casino, he suggested the former actress will be filled with “mixed emotions” given the significance of Britain in her life and her previous experiences with the British media.

It could prove a huge blow to Prince Harry, who has been vocal about reconciling with his father, King Charles.
“I imagine Meghan would approach it with very mixed emotions. Britain was the setting for her wedding and one of the most extraordinary chapters of her life, but it is also associated with intense scrutiny, negative headlines and a period she has described as deeply painful,” Nick commented.
He continued: “She would not be arriving as a new royal expected to learn an unfamiliar system; she would be coming back as an independent woman with her own businesses, profile and boundaries. That could make the experience feel much more manageable.
“She may never feel entirely relaxed about the British media, but a private home and clearly defined separation from royal duties could allow her to engage with the UK on her own terms.”
Nick first met Meghan during her time on Suits and helped her set up agency meetings to explore opportunities in the UK.
They became friends and would often frequent Soho House together and go on regular shopping trips. They eventually lost touch before she went on to wed Harry.
