Prince Harry has been warned about the consequences of his actions once his brother becomes king. A royal biographer has said that Harry reconciling with Prince William could be more important than making up with King Charles.

Duncan Larcombe suggested that Harry might struggle once William becomes king if they haven’t settled their differences: “Harry would benefit from building bridges with William, not least because of what revenge he could and may likely take once he becomes King.”

He added that the Duke of Sussex is well aware of this: “Harry may be many things, but he is not stupid. He knows that if he remains at war with his brother, when the time comes for William to take the throne, the consequences for him could be severe.”

There has been speculation that, following his future coronation, Prince William could strip Harry and his family of their royal titles. This wouldn’t have seemed likely before it was done to Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor last year.

Larcombe said this would be a “bitter blow” to Harry, who is fifth in line for the throne and a Counsellor of State. Meghan would lose her title as Duchess of Sussex if Harry were stripped of his Dukedom.

Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet gained their titles in 2022, when Charles was coronated. But, Woman & Home royal editor Emily Andrews said it’s “obvious” that William “will, at the very least”, strip their titles when he’s King.

There are concerns that Harry and Meghan will be acting as a “parallel royal operation”, setting up a “rival court” to the Royal Family, similar to the one that formed after Princess Diana and then-Prince Charles separated in 1992, with the two establishing competing households.

An insider told Radar Online: “William is fuming because, from his perspective, Harry appears to be presenting himself as though he can simply step back into the role of a working royal whenever it suits him.

“Harry remains the King’s son, and nobody can take that away from him, but being a member of the family and representing the monarchy are two very different things.”

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped back as senior royals in 2020, claiming they wanted independence and privacy, but have worked to establish relationships with charities and organisations, even undergoing pseudo-royal tours.

“William believes the agreement reached when Harry and Meghan left was clear. They wanted independence, and they were given it, but that meant surrendering the ability to operate as working royals,” the source shared.

“William does not want the public confused about who officially represents the King. He believes there has to be an unmistakable dividing line,” the insider revealed.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex moved back to the UK late last month, as Harry reportedly wants his children to go through the English education system. The family is believed to be settling in the Cotswolds.
