Princess Kate and Prince William have stayed silent publicly since Harry and Meghan returned to the UK for a key reason, according to reports.
The Fab Four’s relationship has been strained for years, with William and Harry reportedly not even on speaking terms.
And a source told People the Prince and Princess of Wales are yet to comment in order to avoid any “knee-jerk reaction”.
The lack of comment from the pair is due to it being a private matter, the source continued.
They said: “They are watching this space. It’s private – they don’t feel the need to say anything or demonstrate anything outwardly.”
The source continued that if a reconciliation is on the cards, it “will be a slow build” as “there is a deep sense of betrayal.”

It comes after several sources told People last week that William will remain in “no contact” with Harry despite his move back to the UK after six years.
Over recent years, the tensions between Harry and William have grown with the release of his memoir Spare and broadcast of Harry and Meghan’s tell-all interview with Oprah.
A palace insider noted that the couple has remained very private in recent years, and therefore it is not surprising they have yet to speak on the matter.
The Princess of Wales underwent cancer treatment in 2024, with her announcing her battle and that she was in remission in January 2025.
The source said: “They have suffered a lot. They have been dutiful, doing what they do well and keeping the family together.
“Anything else, from their point of view, isn’t critical.”
Another source added that Meghan and Kate, alongside the brothers, will inevitably cross paths at some point, especially as the King has made his stance on William and Harry’s reunion clear.
“There are bound to be moments where their worlds overlap,” the insider said, “and everyone will be watching how those encounters unfold.”
