Princess Diana made an eerie comment just two months before her tragic de@th, according to her brother Earl Spencer. Diana died from severe internal injuries sustained in a car crash in Paris on August 31, 1997. Her funeral was held six days later at Westminster Abbey in London. Nearly three decades after her de@th, her younger brother, Earl Spencer, has released a memoir titled Swan Song: Diana, My Sister.
The book has recently made headlines after it was serialised by the Daily Mail. In it, Earl Spencer makes a number of shocking allegations, including a claim that King Charles told Diana’s younger brother, “we’ll forget her soon enough”. Alongside these claims, Earl Spencer has also revealed an eerie comment his sister made on her final birthday.
He writes that a family member had sent Diana flowers for her 36th birthday on July 1, 1997. In a thank-you letter, she wrote: “I’ve been so lucky! My house is so full of gorgeous flowers that the place looks like a funeral parlour!”
Earl Spencer also recalls bumping into Diana at London’s Tate Gallery shortly after her birthday in his memoir. He asked his older sister if she had “had a happy birthday”, checked that his gift to her had been safely received, and gave her a hug before they returned to their respective tables to eat.
He tragically recalls: “We had only that brief chat, never to see each other again.”
Earl Spencer revealed that the contents of memoir were kept a secret from his family, including Prince William and Prince Harry. His spokeperson confirmed that Earl Spencer’s nephews found out about the book the same time as the media.

He shared on ITV’s Lorriane, that he “thought it would be easier” that the contents of Swan Song was kept a secret prior to its realise. He only spoke to his wife about it.
He added: “I decided to take full responsibility for what I wanted to share, and I thought it would be easier for my family not to be told, ‘Why didn’t you get him to say this?’ or ‘Why did you not get that taken out?’
“So I told both William and Harry, and my sisters, earlier on the day that it was released, as a piece of news that the book was coming out.
“That was my responsibility – I was writing as a brother.”
