GB News ground to a halt today for a piece of breaking news related to 𝘒𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘊𝘩𝘢𝘳𝘭𝘦𝘴, as he prepares to deliver his Commonwealth Day message to the world. Anchor Ben Leo was speaking via video call to royal journalist Kinsey Schofield about the upcoming ceremony, as she remarked on the “negative attention” focused on the British monarchy.
US journalist Kinsey said: “There’s been so much negative attention on the British royal family lately; Commonwealth Day gives 𝘒𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘊𝘩𝘢𝘳𝘭𝘦𝘴 a chance to remind the world of the monarchy’s soft power. The Commonwealth of Nations exists to foster cooperation, democracy and sustainable development among its 56 member states. It amplifies the voices of smaller or more vulnerable nations, boosts trade between partners and strengthens diplomatic ties across the globe.”
As she spoke, a breaking news banner played under the footage, which read: “Breaking: King: Commonwealth a ‘precious’ institution.”
Kinsey continued: “He’s using his Commonwealth Day message to champion the Commonwealth of Nations as a rare and precious alliance in what he calls an ‘increasingly fragmented world’.
“The King says the 56 nation bloc still has huge untapped potential, particularly when it comes to trade and cooperation, and is urging members to focus on opportunity for young people and collective action on climate change.”

She concluded: “His message comes ahead of Monday’s Commonwealth Day service at Westminster Abbey, which we have yet to see, where we do expect to see multiple senior members of the British royal family and thousands of guests celebrating the modern Commonwealth partnership.”
The annual Commonwealth celebration will see performers including Spice Girls star Geri Halliwell and Stricty’s Oti Mabuse take to the stage.
The Commonwealth Symphony Orchestra will accompany the ceremony, with appearances from folk band Super Grouse and the Melodians Steel Orchestra.
