Princess Kate will make a major solo outing next week as her children return to school after half-term. Princess Kate, 43, will visit the National Memorial Arboretum in Lichfield, Staffordshire on November 11, as it leads the nation in commemorating Armistice Day with a Service of Remembrance on the Armed Forces Memorial.

The Princess of Wales, who is not expected to be accompanied by her husband Prince William, will join the two-minute silence at 11am. She will then lay a wreath in remembrance of all who have served in the Armed Forces.

Princess Kate

Princess Kate has a major outing next week

The poem will reflect on the importance of personal connections, experiences and bonds that are formed through military service – topics which Kensington Palace say are close to the Princess’s heart.

The Princess will also watch performances at the service by Talent in the Ranks and Black Voices.

After the service, Kensington Palace has said that Kate will view the newly dedicated names on the Armed Forces Memorial and meet veterans in attendance at the service.

She will then spend time with a group of secondary school students from military families whose parents are currently on deployment, before viewing a special exhibition currently on display at the Arboretum.

This exhibition, named Letters from the Frontline – Words, War and Victory – is made up of correspondence which shows the experiences and emotions of Armed Forces Personnel and their families during 1945 during the final months of WW2.

It is believed the visit will be very special for Princess Kate, who had relatives serve in the war.

This includes Princess Kate’s paternal grandfather, Peter Middleton, who served as a fighter pilot during the Second World War.
