Dianne Buswell has jokingly called out her Strictly Come Dancing co-star Chris McCausland – but he was quick to respond to her ‘waiting’ admission.

The professional dancer and the comedian have remained friends after capturing viewers’ hearts on the hit dance show last year.

Chris, who was Strictly’s first-ever blind contestant, and Dianne impressed on the dance floor and were later crowned the BBC One dance contest’s 2024 champions in emotional scenes during the series’ grand final.

They were then seen being reunited for Strictly’s 2025 launch back in September, during which they reprised their moving Waltz to the Liverpool anthem, You’ll Never Walk Alone, which also won them a Bafta TV Award earlier this year.

But now, Dianne has cheekily called out Chris for not sending her a copy of his new book, Keep Laughing, after it was released last month.

The 48-year-old initially announced the venture back in January. He said at the time: “I thought Strictly was terrifying but my book has a release date and I haven’t started writing it yet. Don’t worry, I’m going to start right now. It will be really funny, I promise.”

Taking to Instagram on Wednesday (November 5), Dianne shared how she’d popped to the shows and emerged with Chris’ book, as well as a puzzle book which featured a picture of her on the cover.

Alongside the post, the Australian star wrote: “Went to @tesco for eggs came out with these bad boys [laughing emoji]. Yes i did buy Chris’s book as I’m still waiting for the one he supposedly sent me in the mail…….

“I did tell Chris I was on the cover of Arrowwords and he said that’s offensive to crossworders he could be right! Any way got one for me bookshelf and one for mum and for Chrissy [crying laughing emojis].”

But Chris cheekily commented back: “Cha-ching!” suggesting Dianne buying the book has helped with his own earnings, rather than sending her one for free.

Fans were also quick to respond. @hayleykpt_ said: “Crossword cover girl. You’ve made it. I finished chris’ book this week !!! honestly one of the best things i’ve ever read. also one of the most emotional. You will love it.”

@eddo_official replied: “Love that your jumper matches Chris’ book and how iconic to see you on the front of the puzzle book! You truly have made it.” @buswellsdaisy echoed: “Love how your jumper matches the book cover. How cool being on the cover of the that magazine!!!”

@tamsin_niven wrote: “You know you’ve made it when you’re on the cover of a crossword magazine. So cool though!” @fabiak19 posted: “Brilliant. Both very cool purchases!! bet your mum will love that as well hahah.” @janew1970 added: “So glad you managed to get a copy of the book. Deffo an amazing read. Hope you and @chrismccauslandcomedy can manage to get together again soon, miss seeing you together.”
