Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have come under fire once again following their controversial trip to Jordan. The Duke, 41, and Duchess of Suss3x, 44, spent two days in the Middle East to highlight the humanitarian efforts by the Jordanian authorities supporting the health and wellbeing of Syrians and Palestinians, in what many observers said resembled an official royal tour. They carried out various engagements and met with officials and diplomats, but their visit has been dismissed as nothing more than a “photo opportunity” and described by some as “utterly pointless”.
TalkTV presenter Mark Dolan was joined by royal correspondent Rupert Bell, who argued that Prince Harry has frequently complained about security, yet chose to travel to a region that has been perceived as increasingly unstable amid ongoing tensions between the US, Israel and Iran.
“Their hypocrisy has writ large about security issues because there they were glad-handing and pretending they are still part of the Royal Family. Definitely a quasi royal visit,” Rupert said, adding that he assumed the British government and the Royal Family were made aware of their visit.
Mark launched into his own scathing attack of the couple, declaring: “They are cosplay royals. They want to have their cake and eat it, saying that they are desperate for privacy whilst indulging in a world privacy tour with podcasts, TV documentaries and books.
“They don’t want to be front-line serving royals but travel the world as pretend prince and princess,” he said, before pressing Rupert on how the Palace had likely responded to their trip.
Rupert pointed out that the Royal Family “can’t comment”, but acknowledged that they will no doubt be “frustrated” by the situation.

“This is the problem for the Royal Family. Harry can do what he likes but you do know it has the look of a royal tour. This is the frustration for the Royal Family,” Rupert explained.
He observed that the Royal Family are keeping a low profile at present due to the continuing fallout from Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s arrest in connection with his links to the late s3x offender Jeffrey Epstein.
Rupert went on: “They’ve not been doing too much in terms of getting on the front foot, so it is frustrating for them that the Suss3xes decide to have another one. I think they’ve been to Nigeria, Columbia and now Jordan. Where next for them to be seen to be doing their idea of good work?”
