HEARTBREAKING: Coronation Street star heartbroken as he confirms tragic de@th
Coronation Street star Daniel Brocklebank heartbroken as beloved dog dies in devastating loss
Coronation Street star Daniel Brocklebank has shared a heartbreaking announcement with fans after losing his beloved dog Jean, leaving the actor devastated and prompting an outpouring of emotional tributes from his former co-stars.

The actor, best known for playing vicar Billy Mayhew on the ITV soap, revealed that his much-loved Dachshund sadly died over the weekend.
Daniel took to social media to share the painful news, admitting that he was completely heartbroken after saying goodbye to a companion who had been part of his family for several years.
“My beautiful, loving, kind, desperately loyal pup Jean left us today,” he wrote.
“I’m heartbroken.”
The actor went on to thank the veterinary team who had tried desperately to save Jean, adding an emotional tribute to the staff at Animal Trust Vets for “doing everything they could to save her”.
For Daniel, the loss was made even more painful by the memories of the life he had shared with Jean.
‘I’ll never get to snuggle up with my complete trio again’

In another deeply emotional post, Daniel shared a photograph showing himself cuddling his three beloved dogs.
The image captured a happier moment, with Jean alongside Colin and Dorris.
But following Jean’s de@th, the photograph suddenly took on a heartbreaking meaning.
Daniel wrote: “Absolutely gutted that I’ll never get to snuggle up with my complete trio like this again.”
Despite his grief, the actor reflected on how grateful he was to have experienced those moments with his dogs.
“But so grateful of the time I had with them all together,” he added.
Then came a simple message that resonated with fellow dog owners:
“Hug your pups tight while you’ve got them.”
The words prompted an emotional reaction from fans, many of whom understood the pain of losing a much-loved pet.
Corrie stars rally around Daniel

Daniel’s former Coronation Street colleagues were quick to send messages of love and support.
Alex Bain, who played Simon Barlow, wrote: “So sorry to hear that Dan, sending love and best wishes.”
Sue Cleaver, who portrayed Eileen Grimshaw, also shared her heartbreak, writing: “Love you and I’m so glad I got to see her yesterday.”
Jane Danson, known for playing Leanne Battersby, sent Daniel a message of comfort, saying: “Oh Dan, so sorry to hear that. Sending you a big hug.”
Jane Hazlegrove, who plays Bernie Winter, described the loss as incredibly painful.
“Oh darling, that’s so sad… it’s so painful. So much love dear heart,” she wrote.
Other stars, including Sally Carman, Faye Brookes, Kym Marsh and Lucy Fallon, also paid tribute and offered their support.
Jean had been part of Daniel’s family for years
Jean was adopted by Daniel from Dogs Trust in February 2020 and had been one of three Dachshunds in his home.
Alongside Jean, Daniel is also dog dad to Colin and Dorris.
For years, the three dogs had been a much-loved trio, making Daniel’s admission that he would never again be able to cuddle all three together particularly poignant.
The photograph he shared is now a reminder of a time that can never be recreated.
Daniel’s career on Coronation Street spanned more than a decade, with his character Billy Mayhew becoming a familiar presence on the cobbles before his departure from the soap in early 2026.
But away from the cameras, it was his life with his dogs that clearly brought him enormous happiness.
And now, as Daniel mourns Jean, his message to other pet owners is perhaps the most heartbreaking part of all.
“Hug your pups tight while you’ve got them.”
For a grieving dog owner, those few words say everything.
Jean may no longer be beside Daniel, Colin and Dorris, but the memories of the little dog who was described as “loving, kind” and “desperately loyal” will remain with him forever.
