Thomas Markle once made a desperate plea to his estranged daughter, Meghan Markle, to let him see his grandchildren Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. Thomas, who hasn’t seen his daughter since 2018, urged Meghan to allow him to get to know his grandchildren in a 2023 TV interview.
It is believed Thomas has still not, to this day, seen Archie and Lilibet. This is because he also hasn’t seen his daughter, Meghan, after the pair fell out in the lead-up to her 2018 royal wedding with Prince Harry. It is believed the father-and-daughter relationship fell apart after it was discovered that Thomas had been staging paparazzi photographs. The situation then got worse when a heartfelt letter from Meghan to her father was shared publicly.

While Thomas has urged his daughter to contact him many times, with Meghan having reportedly made some form of contact last year when her father was in hospital for a leg amputation, the relationship has never been amended.
Thomas and Meghan have also not seen each other face-to-face in many years, with Thomas, therefore, having never met Archie, seven, or Lilibet, five.
This led to him making a desperate plea to see them in 2023 in a TV interview with Good Morning Britain.
He said at the time: “I still haven’t seen my grandkids and I want to see my grandkids.”

He continued: “I’m very upset about it as well because this is a cruel thing to do to a grandparent… deny the right to see their grandchild.
“I’ve always been here for her [Meghan], I still love her, I’ll love her forever. I want her to reach out to me and let me see my grandkids and let me have a little peace.
Thomas used to say he could relate to King Charles, who had only seen Archie and Lilibet a few times; this is no longer believed to be something the grandfathers share.
This is because the monarch saw his grandchildren earlier this month at Highgrove, marking their first face-to-face meeting since 2022.
Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams told the Daily Express last week that Thomas will be “devastated” that the King has got to see Archie and Lilibet again, while he is still waiting for a first meeting with them.
