Rushed to Hospital With a Suspected Brain Bleed: Katie Price’s Ex Alex Reid Gives Shock Update After Walking Around “Punch Drunk”

Former cage fighter Alex Reid, 50, shared a deeply worrying health update on Tuesday after being rushed to hospital with what doctors fear may be a bleed on his brain. The Big Brother winner — who was married to Katie Price for 11 months in 2010 — revealed that he had undergone a CT scan and was awaiting an MRI after his walking became impaired “as if he was punch drunk.”

Reid, a father of four, posted the update while sitting in a hospital waiting room, explaining that he had been admitted since 9am.
He told fans:

“I’ve already had a CT scan, and now I’m waiting for an MRI to check if there’s a bleed on the posterior part of my brain.”

He went on to describe a frightening experience that left people assuming he was intoxicated in public:

“I honestly can’t believe how I’ve been walking lately — so punch drunk that people keep assuming I’m drunk. I’m not. This is just how my body moves these days, and it’s a horrible feeling not knowing why.”

Reid feared that decades of martial arts training — including around 300 fights — may have contributed to his condition. Still, he stressed that this is not an attack on combat sports but a warning for younger fighters to train safer and protect themselves.

“This isn’t a negative post about martial arts or fighting. I love this sport — it’s my life. But young lads coming up need to train smarter. Wear your headgear. Think long-term, not just about the next fight.”

He added that his father’s death from a brain tumour at 77 heavily influenced his fears:

“Thank God the scans so far have shown no tumours. Hearing that was a huge relief.”

But doctors are now trying to determine whether there is a bleed or any sign of brain damage that might explain his balance and coordination issues.

Reid vowed to update supporters as soon as he receives results, thanking fans for their messages:

“This is me being honest, raising awareness, and letting people know what really goes on behind closed doors. Combat sports are incredible — but your health is everything.”

Experts warn that martial arts can cause brain damage through repeated head impacts, potentially resulting in chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE). Symptoms can include memory problems, depression, impulsivity, and even dementia in later stages.

Katie Price Twist: Leaked Cash Video Resurfaces

Reid’s health scare comes months after he leaked a video of bankrupt star Katie Price appearing to count wads of cash — just days after Peter Andre accused her of “peddling baseless lies.”
The footage, reportedly filmed in 2020, showed Katie gleefully handling stacks of money while talking to her daughter, Princess Andre.

A representative for Katie insisted the cash did not belong to her and that the video had already been reviewed in bankruptcy proceedings.

Peter Andre’s team said he was “totally disgusted,” especially because Princess was present in the video.

Family Turmoil Continues

Meanwhile, Reid’s personal life remains turbulent. His son Freddy — expecting his first child — has previously spoken openly about mental health struggles, including starving himself and replacing food with “green” (street name for cannabis). He also revealed he spent his 18th birthday in a psychiatric ward after a severe episode.
