EastEnders icon Michael Keating left just a four-figure sum in his will, after his de@th at the age of 79 earlier this year. The actor was best known for his role as Reverend George Stevens in the BBC soap – a role he held between 2005 and 2017 – though he also appeared in Blake’s 7, Midsomer Murders and a series of Doctor Who podcasts.
Michael sadly died after battling dementia, and he left behind just £6,800 in his will. Probate records obtained by The Sun showed from an initial figure of £141,903, less than £7,000 was left after liabilities, leaving £6,800 as his net estate.
£2,000 each went to his grandchildren, while Michael’s share of a property he owned was slated to go to his second wife Sue Conner, and then to his daughter Lisa in the event of Sue’s de@th.
His personal possessions, including theatre programmes, a stamp collection and a gold medal, were left to his daughter.
Michael’s de@th was initially announced in May, with Blake’s 7 book publisher Cult Edge issuing a statement which read: “So terribly sad to hear reports that we’ve lost Michael Keating. What a loss, and what a wonderful man. He’ll be hugely missed. Thoughts are with his family and friends. RIP Michael, and thank you.”

Meanwhile, film producer Keith Barnfather paid tribute on Facebook, penning: “MICHAEL KEATING 1947 – 2026. More sad news. The passing of the absolutely lovely Michael Keating.
“Vila was probably my favourite character in Blake’s 7 and it was a total blast to meet Michael properly to film his Myth Makers at Winspit Quarry in Dorset.
“Such a fun, generous, kind spirit. My deepest condolences to his family and every Blake’s 7 fan out there.”
