Australian television personality Tayla Meath has tragically d!ed after a lengthy battle with C@ncer. In 2024, Tayla, 30, was diagnosed with adenoid cystic carcinoma, a rare type of C@ncer that develops in glandular tissue, according to the C@ncer Council. She was best known for appearing on The Dog House Australia, a reality TV series following abandoned dogs as they were matched with their “perfect” owners.
In a heartfelt tribute, the programme said it was “deeply saddened” by Tayla’s passing, adding that she would be remembered for the “extraordinary love, kindness and care” she showed the dogs. “Working with animals wasn’t just a job for Tayla. It was her passion and a huge part of who she was. She loved being able to help give dogs the second chance they deserved and to play a small part in finding them their forever homes,” the statement said.
A GoFundMe launched for Tayla revealed that she “took her last breath surrounded by the people she loved the most” on September 1.
It said how Tayla’s family are deeply grateful to everyone who supported her throughout her long and difficult C@ncer journey.
The page added that despite her illness, Tayla continued to live life on her own terms, spending precious time with her family, husband, friends and beloved dog Archie, celebrating milestones and making memories.
“Tayla’s family would like to thank every single person who has loved her, supported her, encouraged her, and walked beside them through the hardest chapter of their lives,” organiser April Faulkner said.
“They are now learning how to live with the unimaginable loss of their girl. Tayla’s journey was long and painful, but she never gave up. She fought every single day.

“She lived, she loved, she laughed, and she kept pushing forward even when things were incredibly hard.
“C@ncer may have taken Tayla from us, but it could never take away the mark she left on the people around her. She will live on through every person she touched, every friendship she made, every laugh she shared, and every life she made brighter simply by being in it.”
April added: “Now it’s time to give Tayla the celebration of life she deserves. Her service will be beautiful, just as she wanted, and just as she was.”
Tayla leaves behind her partner of 10 years, Curtis, and their beloved three-year-old Labrador, Archie.
Tributes have flooded in for Tayla online, with one writing: “Thank you to everyone at The Dog House and Animal Welfare League who shared this special part of Tayla’s life with her. She loved what she did, and she loved the people she did it alongside.
“Seeing her face on our television each week was something her family was incredibly proud of — and seeing the beautiful messages from viewers who remember her means more than you could know.
“Being part of The Dog House was something she was incredibly proud of. She loved the animals, loved the work and loved being part of such an incredible team of people who shared her passion for giving animals a voice. Run free, beautiful girl. No more pain.”
Another said: “This is terribly sad news. The measure of a human can be determined by the way they treat animals. Tayla being one of those special people who loved animals.
“I am sure all the doggies that Tayla cared for who have crossed that rainbow bridge will be greeting her with unconditional love. Thank you Tayla for the love and compassion that you gave to those animals in need.”
