Lorraine Kelly revealed the song she wanted played at her funeral in a new interview. The Scottish-born presenter, 66, opened up about her career as one of ITV’s longest-running daytime hosts. The broadcaster made a candid admission as she spoke about living a long life.
It comes after Lorraine suffered a heartbreaking loss in January. The on-screen star’s dad, John Kelly, sadly d!ed aged 84. In a post on shared on social media at the time, Lorraine said her father “was in poor health but his de@th has still been a shock”. John was reportedly found injured on an outdoor path in his home town of East Kilbride, near St Leonard’s Square shopping centre.
The presenter penned: “Very sad news. My dad has d!ed. I am mourning the man who bought me a telescope when I was five years old, who watched the moon landings with me and taught me to always be curious and interested in everything.
“He was in poor health but it has still been a shock. We will miss you dad.”

In a Q&A with the Irish Independent’s Sunday magazine Lorraine shared the song she wanted played at her funeral.
“Careful by Horse. She’s a Scottish artist,” the presenter explained. “It’s the most beautiful, haunting song.”
Lorraine continued: “After that, I’d want everyone to have a massive party. Hopefully, I’m going to die in my bed when I’m 102.”
The ITV favourite also opened up about the afterlife but admitted she is not a religious person.
She added: “…but I think that you live in on in the people who love you.”
Meanwhile, the presenter recently confirmed her show is now on a break from screens.
The TV legend signed off from her eponymous programme on July 3 by telling viewers the show will be off air “for a wee while” and that she will “really miss” everyone.
She said on the episode: “That’s all from us for now. I am away for a wee while.
“I’ll really miss you, but I will see you very, very soon.”
It comes after ITV’s budget cuts forced Lorraine’s on-air time to be slashed from an hour to 30 minutes, and move to a 30-week “seasonal basis” timetable, which came into force in January.
