Reebok already employs Angel Reese, who went to battle with Caitlin Clark in the NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament for back-to-back seasons. Now, the shoe and apparel company is signing another one of Clark’s rivals.
The brand announced on Thursday morning that it has signed Dijonai Carrington. The 27-year-old Dallas Wings guard played for the Connecticut Sun from 2021-24. She was traded to the Wings back in February.
Clark and Carrington have history, as the latter was accused of poking the former in the eye during the 2024 season. Many accused Carrington of intentionally poking Clark in the eye, though she denied that.
“I don’t even know why I would intend to hit anybody in the eye,” Carrington said. “That doesn’t even make sense to me. But no, I didn’t. I didn’t know I hit her, actually. I was trying to make a play on the ball, and I guess I followed through and I hit her. Obviously it’s never intentional. That’s not even the type of player that I am.”
Clark agreed.
“It wasn’t intentional by any means,” Clark said. “Just watch the play.”
However, it won’t be surprising to see these two going at it in future seasons. And now, Reebok, which was long seen as a rival to Nike – which signed Clark to an eight-figure deal – has signed Carrington to one of their own.

Reebok announced the news on Thursday morning.
“We would like to welcome Dijonai Carrington to the Reebok Basketball family. Dijonai’s edge makes her the definition of a Reebok athlete. Welcome to the Future of Reebok Basketball,” the company announced.
Carrington, who starred collegiately at Baylor, averaged 12.7 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game.
She’ll look to help lead the Wings into the playoffs in 2025, possibly matching up against Clark and the Fever.
