Cameras NBA Star’s Wife Had Heated Confrontation With His Former Teammate

De'Aaron Fox's Wife and Malik Monk

It’s been over a month since the Sacramento Kings traded All-Star point guard De’Aaron Fox to the San Antonio Spurs in a three-way trade. But there could be some lingering bad blood with his now-former teammates.

Video from yesterday’s game between the Kings and Spurs shows a fairly heated confrontation going on between Fox’s wife Recee Caldwell and Kings star Malik Monk. The video was shot very far away from the two, so you can’t make out what they’re saying.

But the people recording the video added their own commentary, speculating that they were probably getting in each other’s face over comments made about Fox in the aftermath of his trade to San Antonio.

Users in the replies had their own theories about what the two might have been arguing about:

“She’s mad he was talking about bronny,” one user joked.

“what make yall think Malik & De’Aaron so close lol…i get they was teammates in college & in the league idk.”

Others feel that the people making the video are just making a mountain out of a molehill, pointing out that they didn’t seem angry with one-another:

“this genuinely looks like two friends (expletive) with each other. nothing about this looks malicious and just looks like friendly banter. have we not learned to stop creating drama where there isn’t any? this discourse is so unnecessary lol.”

“People reading helllaaaaa into this. Why can’t 2 people just have a conversation without being judged for it? They was just catching up and having an animated conversation. End of story.”

“Animated conversation with his best friend of almost a decade’s wife and y’all assuming it’s an argument. They’re talking about love island for all we know.”

Fox and Monk were college teammates at the University of Kentucky and were a big reason that the team was able to finally overcome its decade-long playoff drought in 2023. Fox was an All-Star in the 2022-23 season while Monk was one of the top players off the bench in the association.

It probably wasn’t the easiest of partings that the two had when Fox got sent to the Spurs a few weeks ago.
