The Cincinnati Bengals season ended with no trip to the playoffs, and now, Jermaine Burton has gotten the offseason off to a terrible start.

The Cincinnati Bengals rookie wide receiver is being accused of assaulting a woman he was dating, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer.

Fortunately for him, the unnamed woman refused to press charges against him.

The incident reportedly took place on Dec. 30, two days after the Bengals took on the Denver Broncos at Paycor Stadium. It also occurred between then and the team’s travel to Pittsburgh to play the Steelers in their final game of the regular season.

Jermaine Burton didn’t travel with the team.

The reports state that the 19-year-old woman called the police around 8:45 a.m. and informed them that the wideout chased her inside her apartment, damaged her phone, assaulted her, and even held a knife to his neck and threatened to take his own life.

“Jermaine Burton on the Bengals just broke into my house. He broke my phone,” the woman told a dispatcher.” He’s been like pretty abusive. He does a lot of things that I don’t tolerate.”

Initially, she wanted to press charges, but quickly changed her mind.

Jermaine Burton is also reportedly being evicted, according to a court filing from Dec. 23.

Burton ended his rookie campaign with four catches for 107 yards in 14 games.

The Baltimore Ravens have announced that Zay Flowers will not be with them when they play the Pittsburgh Steelers in the Wild Card round of the NFL playoffs this Saturday.

The wide receiver is set to miss his first NFL game because of an injury after hurting his knee in Baltimore’s division-clinching victory over the Cleveland Browns last week.

“Zay Flowers is not going to be able to make it to the game this week,” Ravens head coach Harbaugh said on Thursday, per NFL.com. “So he’ll get started again next week and we’ll move forward with the guys we have and we’re excited about the guys we have, which is everybody else.

The second-year star made 74 receptions for 1,059 yards and four touchdowns during the season.

Rashod Bateman will step in as the main wide receiver option for Baltimore this weekend. Bateman had a career year in which he made 45 catches for 756 yards and nine scores. Only tight end Mark Andrews had more TDs this term.
