Donald Trump Jr. might be in some serious trouble.

Trump Jr. has angered Italian politicians and is now being investigated over the shooting of a protected duck.

At the time of the incident, the president’s eldest son could be seen on video hunting in wetlands bordering Italy’s Venice Lagoon. The footage shows him wearing camouflage, shooting birds out of the sky, and appearing beside a pile of dead birds.

Experts watching that video identified one of the birds as a ruddy shelduck, a protected species in Europe.

As a result, Venetian prosecutors reportedly opened an investigation into Donald Trump Jr.

Italian politician Andrea Zanoni told Sky News weeks ago that he even filed a criminal complaint after the U.S. president’s eldest son killed the duck.

Trump Jr., who shares kids with his ex-wife, Vanessa Trump, was reportedly not personally named in the complaint.

It’s not clear from the video, which has since been removed from the website of Field Ethos, who in his hunting party actually pulled the trigger and allegedly killed a protected bird. It still doesn’t matter as the entire saga has set off what one Italian newspaper called the “Donald Duck crisis.”

Prosecutors are investigating whether he illegally hunted a protected duck during a December trip to the Venice lagoon.

Italian politician Andrea Zanoni and several animal rights groups filed criminal complaints accusing Trump of hunting without a license and killing the protected bird.

If found guilty, Trump Jr. could face up to six months in prison and a fine of 4,000 euros, per the Daily Beast.
