Fans of Good Morning Britain were left fuming on Wednesday as the ITV show delivered a report about Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor. The breakfast programme, hosted by Susanna Reid and Richard Madeley, explained that a US Congressman has renewed calls for the disgraced royal to testify in America over his friendship with the billionaire paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
News correspondent Liz Summers explained that it follows a decision to release previously secret documents, known as the Epstein Files, which are believed to include transcripts of police interviews with trafficked girls. President Donald Trump backed the release of the files this week as he said that he had nothing to do with Mr Epstein – who was found dead in a prison cell – as he was a “dirty pervert”. However, it is believed that Andrew would be named in the files but the former Prince has always strenuously denied any wrongdoing.

In the ITV report, the brother of one alleged victim, Virginia Giuffre, said if the Royal wanted to be vindicated, then now was the time for him to “come to the US and answer”. He said: “He shouldn’t be scared to stand up and actually come forward.”
However, some fans of Good Morning Britain thought it was odd that all of the focus was on Andrew – despite many other public figures reportedly being named in the files.
Taking to X/Twitter, one viewer wrote: “As soon as the files are released, how about asking others named to testify. This obsession with Andrew is suspicious.”

Another added: “Serious question was the lowlife Andrew the only perpetrator? The way this freaking program goes on, Andrew was Epstein’s only client…”
While a third echoed: “Oh please, as if the real full Epstein files are going to be released, it would take down Hollywood and loads of other organisations if the real list was released.
“This whole ‘try to get Andrew’ for it, it’s just a deflection from all the other prominent people who are on the list.”
