The Donald Trump sports curse seems to be real.
Trump backed Team USA ahead of their Four Nations Face-Off against Canada and even called the team to help them in their efforts to secure a second win in as many days.
Hours later, Tam USA would go down in overtime, 3-2.
Unfortunately, this is not the first time that Donald Trump has backed a team, and they would go on to lose.
Earlier this month, he spoke about his love for Patrick and Brittany Mahomes while pulling for the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl in New Orleans.
While in attendance, the Chiefs got destroyed 40-22.
Fans took to social media to give life to conspiracy theories.
“The Trump curse strikes again. He couldn’t just stay out of it. The KC Chiefs and US Hockey team thanks him for his support,” one account said.
“Trump is the new Drake of sports. Every team they root for seems to end up in the L column,” another fan stated.
“The Trump curse is alive and well. Don’t let him cheer on your team during championships,” one fan added of Donald Trump.
“Trump curse is the new Drake curse,” a fourth fan stated.
One final fan provided screenshots while saying: “The Trump sports curse is real.”

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau wasted little time getting some payback on Trump after Canada defeated the United States 3-2 in overtime to win the 4 Nations ice hockey competition in Boston.
On X, formerly Twitter, Trudeau wrote: “You can’t take our country – and you can’t take our game.”
Trudeau was likely licking his chops since Trump has spent months mocking him as “Governor Trudeau” and has repeatedly expressed a desire for Canada to join the American union as its 51st state.
Shortly after his inauguration last month, Trump announced he would impose 25 percent tariffs on Canadian and Mexican produce.
