Iman Shumpert has officially concluded the divorce proceedings with his wife, Teyana Taylor, marking the end of their seven-year marriage. The couple shares two daughters: Iman Tayla “Junie” Shumpert Jr., born in 2015, and Rue Rose Shumpert, welcomed in 2020. A Fulton County judge facilitated this mutual decision after Taylor filed for divorce in 2023, highlighting the sensitive nature of their separation.
Recently, the full terms of their divorce settlement surfaced on social media, revealing significant financial implications. On Tuesday, Taylor filed legal documents alleging that Shumpert contributed to negative media narratives misrepresenting their divorce. However, according to former NBA star Iman Shumpert’s attorney, Stephen C. Steele, in an interview with TMZ Sports, Shumpert insists that he never leaked any information about the details of his divorce.
“My client, Mr. Iman Shumpert, has never leaked any allegations or claims stated in any of the pleadings in the Taylor/Shumpert divorce case. Mr. Shumpert adamantly denies that he has provided any information to any media. Specifically, but without limitations, he denies that he leaked any information which may have served as the basis for the multiple news reports preceding the trial of this matter.“ Steele said to TMZ Sports.
Taylor requested a 20-day jail sentence and financial penalties for Shumpert. In response, Shumpert’s attorney, Steele, emphasized his client’s innocence and challenged the validity of Taylor’s claims.
