“It’s Like Saying the Sky Is Blue” — Draymond Green’s Take on Steph and Jimmy Has Everyone Talking

When healthy, the Golden State Warriors are a massive threat in the Western Conference. They’ve proven that much thus far, with the trade deadline proving to be a pivotal turning point for the club.

Adding Jimmy Butler to the core of Stephen Curry and Draymond Green has created a superb lineup.

With both Butler and Curry healthy and in the lineup, the Warriors have posted an impressive 18-2 record, proving to be quite a force in the West.

Not only has Curry put together a few masterclass performances, but he’s sustained an MVP-level play, being at the center of the Warriors’ success.

What Butler provides alongside Curry’s superstardom and Green’s defensive prowess, though, is a “match made in heaven.”

The superstar forward was the driving force of two NBA Finals appearances for the Miami Heat — and he’s not the stereotypical high-scoring superstar.

What Butler does have, however, is a will to win, just like Curry and Green have.

The difference? Green and Curry have lived it. They haven’t just reached the Finals on a couple of occasions. They’ve hung four banners for the Warriors.

Green makes clear Curry, Butler statement

In an appearance on ESPN’s “NBA Today,” Green was quite candid about his two star teammates.

“We already know who Steph Curry is,” Green claimed. “But now you add a force like Jimmy [Butler]… He wants to win, and I know we want to win. So this is a match made in heaven.”

Evidently, the trio is aging. They don’t have a plethora of years left on their respective, albeit remarkable, NBA careers.

There needs to be a sense of urgency from the three spearheads of the club, as they have proven to be winners on the hardwood.

Whether this season or next, expect Golden State to make one final deep postseason run — or, at minimum — great attempt at making noise in the playoffs.
