LeBron James credits his kids for his NBA longevity (Image Source: Imagn)
LA Lakers star LeBron James is still at the top of his game despite being 40 years old. Although 40 is not an advanced age, most athletes often retire before reaching that milestone. However, James is a different breed as he’s still going strong and even credited his athletic household for keeping him happy and competitive.
Being one of the best players in the NBA, James is a father to ambitious, athletic children. His eldest, Bronny, has fulfilled his dream and is now a player in the league, playing for the Lakers. Bryce, the second child, is a senior in high school and has committed to playing basketball for the University of Arizona in college.
Lastly, James’ youngest is Zhuri, and she is also pursuing an athletic path in volleyball at 10 years old.
On Monday, the Lakers star spoke about his kids in his appearance on “GoJo and Golic.”

“I think having three kids in my household has definitely kept me younger than my age and my sport,” James said (4:52). “Obviously, I’m still a young man in life but I’m up there in the sport. Having the ability to work on my son everyday in LeBron Jr. and then also have my 17-year-old son, he’s a senior high school.
“Then, my 10-year-old daughter, who’s a volleyball player, they bring so much life into the household — well, Bronny has his own household now. But my other two kids, they’re still here so they give me a lot of life.”
In his 22nd season, the 20-time All-Star is averaging 23.8 points, 7.7 rebounds and 8.8 assists. Despite his age, James has shown no signs of slowing down.
Former NBA star notes double standards for LeBron James at age 40
Former NBA star Gilbert Arenas brought up the topic of having double standards with LeBron James. Everyone expects James to continue leading and competing in the NBA at the age of 40, according to Arenas. However, the same standards weren’t put in front of Michael Jordan when he was the same age as the Lakers star.
When Jordan was 40, he played for the Washington Wizards and averaged 20.0 points, 6.1 rebounds and 3.8 assists. There wasn’t much to expect from MJ and the Wizards.
This made Arenas rank among the two NBA stars. According to him, James is the better 40-year-old player compared to Jordan.

Ever since she was locked up in a prison in Russia, Brittney Griner has undergone major changes with her appearances.
Griner, the WNBA star imprisoned in Russia two years ago over cannabis possession, was sentenced to a nine-year prison sentence for drug possession but was released in December 2022 after serving 10 months in prison as part of a rare prisoner exchange.
During her ten-month imprisonment, she was left outside in the freezing Russian winter for hours, which caused her dreadlocks to freeze. She even stated spiders built nests in her hair.
In her memoir titled “Coming Home,” Brittney Griner said she had to ask for permission to shave her head.
“My dreads had become knotted over the months. At IK-2, they froze together. My iced locs started molding beneath that wrap,” Griner said. “They took three days to dry after I showered. During exercise on frigid mornings, I could literally feel a head cold coming on.”
Things have certainly changed since the USA came and rescued her.
