Dallas Cowboys minority owner Mark Cuban, a longtime critic of President Donald Trump, took a different approach with his social media on Wednesday.
On Tuesday evening, ESPN MLB reporter Jeff Passan on X/Twitter that the Department of Defense’s website took down an article about Jackie Robinson’s military service. Robinson, who broke the MLB color barrier in 1947, was a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army before receiving an honorable discharge in 1944.
The story was later restored, with a Department of Defense official telling ABC News that the story on Robinson was “mistakenly removed.” The article on Robinson can be found at this link.
Hours after posting on the article’s removal, Mark Cuban returned to X and wrote, “I’m good with them admitting it was a mistake.”
Cuban has donated to both Republican and Democratic politicians. Though he endorsed Hillary Clinton in the 2016 presidential election, Cuban said in 2017 that if he had to run for office, it would be as a Republican.
It’s well-known that Donald Trump is loved and supported by many professional sports team owners, especially in the NFL. But Cuban is a rare exception as an outspoken critic of the president.

Mark Cuban purchased the Mavericks in 2000 and quickly turned them into an NBA powerhouse. Over his first 11 years as owner, the Mavericks reached two NBA Finals (2006 and 2011), winning it all in the 2011 season after upsetting LeBron James’ Miami Heat in six games.
In 2023, Cuban sold 72.3 percent percent of the Mavericks to the Adelson family. The change has not been good to Mavs fans so far, since the Adelson family ownership allowed GM Nico Harrison to trade away franchise icon Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers in a mind-boggling move
