Nika Muhl vows to come back better after knee injury
Nika Muhl decided to go to the Turkish league in the WNBA offseason to further develop her game but saw her campaign abruptly cut short after suffering a season-ending knee injury. She is now in the process of rehabilitation and vows to come back better.
The injury occurred on Oct. 3 in her ball club Besiktas’ game against Fenerbahce in the FIBA SuperCup. Late in the third quarter, she picked off a pass and was about to speed off on a fastbreak when her left leg gave way. She immediately screamed in pain and was taken off the court on a stretcher. On Nov. 1, Muhl underwent a successful surgery and is now recovering.
After the tough injury, Muhl shared her frame of mind in overcoming her current predicament, writing:
“Anyone that knows me knows I work my a** off all the time. This time isn’t gonna be any different… This is just another opportunity for me to compete, this time against myself. Not to be cocky, but that’s an easy W.”
There is no time table yet for how long Nika Muhl will be out but she is likely to miss the enire 2025 WNBA season because of the injury.
