Paige Bueckers can start envisioning WNBA hoops in Texas after the conclusion of her career at UConn.
That future is almost a certainty after the ping pong balls worked in the Dallas Wings’ favor in the 2024 WNBA draft lottery.
However, there have been rumors that the UConn superstar might pull an Eli Manning and force the No. 1 pick holders to trade her somewhere else.
Bueckers has not publicly spoken against the idea of playing for the Wings. ESPN reported last November that the Los Angeles Sparks were Bueckers’ preferred destination.
To clarify any confusion, Paige Bueckers is now refuting reports that she doesn’t want to play for the Dallas Wings.
“The reports are the reports,” Bueckers told Front Office Sports.
“People write stories, and it’s whatever. Honestly, I’m not really worried about that at the moment. I’m just worried about being here, being present with the team, and trying to get better every single day. So whatever the future may hold, it’s only in God’s hands.”
Bueckers also said there is “nowhere specific” she wants to play. “Wherever I end up,” she said.

The Dallas Wings hold the No. 1 pick in the WNBA Draft, and barring anything unexpected, Bueckers is expected to be the first player taken when the draft.
The Wings finished the 2024 season 9-31, missing the playoffs.
Having the top overall pick is incredibly important to franchises looking to rebuild.
The Wings have had little success since moving to the Lone Star State. While the franchise won three WNBA titles in 2003, 2006, and 2008, all those came when they were the Detroit Shock.
In their nine seasons in Dallas, they’ve made the playoffs five times and have only advanced past the first round once.
Paige Bueckers will have a lot on her shoulders when she gets to town.
VIDEO: Some Dude Just Dropped The Cold Hard Truth On Why All Of These NFL Prospects Are “Dating White Women”
Unless this is your first day in America, then you know race relations in this country dominate just everything, and that includes NBA and NFL drafts
During the most recent NFL Draft in Detroit, social media was buzzing as athletes showed up to the red carpet event with their girlfriends and family. Many of the incoming NFL rookies were African-American and were spotted with white women, which has become the usual theme for years.
The same thing happens with the NBA Draft.
This year, the discourse on the NFL Draft and NBA Draft has gotten even louder as African-American women openly pondered why so many of the players never have a partner that is the same race as them.
One guy on TikTok decided to answer that question by revealing that the vast majority of his division-1 friends in college or headed to the league are dating or married to white women and explained why.
He stated that some of them had told him that their white girlfriend looked up to Taylor Swift while their girlfriend looked up to Megan The Stallion. He then states the guy asks how many white women he has seen doing the Megan Thee Stallion challenge as opposed to Black women.
He then dove into another story of a friend who relayed that his Black girlfriend started to request money from him as soon as she found out about his NIL money. She wanted her hair and nails done. He then added that the Black women would be upset if they went to places like Chipotle, and she demanded steak houses.
