Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes has addressed the notion that his team benefits from extra special treatment from the NFL refs.
The Chiefs have certainly benefited from their fair share of questionable officiating calls during their dynastic run. That includes the controversial defensive holding call against James Bradberry at the end of Super Bowl 57 two seasons ago, and of course what we saw against the Houston Texans in Saturday’s Divisional Round tilt.
The officials called two curious “Roughing the Passer” calls against the Texans on Mahomes, prompting ESPN analyst Troy Aikman to openly rip the officials on live TV. There was also an illegal hip-drop tackle against safety Bryan Cook on Houston tight end Dalton Schultz that went uncalled.
So, what does the three-time Super Bowl-winning quarterback have to say about the notion that the refs are favoring his team? Mahomes had a fascinating response during his latest appearance on 96.5 The Fan in Kansas City.
“I‘ve kind of learned that no matter what happens during the game, that something’s going to come out about it if you win and you continue to win, so I don’t really pay attention to it. I mean, obviously I’ve been on both sides of it as far as how I felt the calls were made, but at the end of the day, man, those guys are doing their best to make the best calls and keep it to where the players are making the plays in the game. And that’s what decides the outcome.
And obviously there was a call here or there that people didn’t agree with, but at the same time, I think there was a lot of other plays that really decided the outcome of that football game.”
Disgruntled fans, of course, said the same thing about Tom Brady and the New England Patriots during their dynastic run: That they got favorable treatment from the officials, especially the QB.
Missed calls are part of the game. Each team benefits and suffers from officiating mistakes. But if the Chiefs continue to be on the right side far more often than not, the league will have to deal with more backlash. Plain and simple.
Refs Treatment Of Patrick Mahomes Will Be Followed Closely On Sunday
The Chiefs are set to host Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills in the AFC Championship Game on Sunday evening, with Clete Blakeman and his crew receiving the assignment. The officials will be followed closely by fans, who will wait for an inevitable and controversial game-changing call.
VIDEO: Some Dude Just Dropped The Cold Hard Truth On Why All Of These NFL Prospects Are “Dating White Women”
Unless this is your first day in America, then you know race relations in this country dominate just everything, and that includes NBA and NFL drafts.
During the most recent NFL Draft in Detroit, social media was buzzing as athletes showed up to the red carpet event with their girlfriends and family. Many of the incoming NFL rookies were African-American and were spotted with white women, which has become the usual theme for years.
The same thing happens with the NBA Draft.
This year, the discourse on the NFL Draft and NBA Draft has gotten even louder as African-American women openly pondered why so many of the players never have a partner that is the same race as them.
One guy on TikTok decided to answer that question by revealing that the vast majority of his division-1 friends in college or headed to the league are dating or married to white women and explained why.
He stated that some of them had told him that their white girlfriend looked up to Taylor Swift while their girlfriend looked up to Megan The Stallion. He then states the guy asks how many white women he has seen doing the Megan Thee Stallion challenge as opposed to Black women.
He then dove into another story of a friend who relayed that his Black girlfriend started to request money from him as soon as she found out about his NIL money. She wanted her hair and nails done. He then added that the Black women would be upset if they went to places like Chipotle, and she demanded steak houses.

Commissioner Roger Goodell took the stage Thursday for the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft in Detroit, and many players showed up, ready to hear their names called.
Many women online noticed that some players in the NFL Draft who were Black did not have the same color girlfriend on their arm.
Some of those players included Caleb Williams, who hit the red carpet at the 2024 NFL Draft in Detroit with girlfriend Alina Thyregod by his side.
Washington wide receiver Rome Odunze showed up with girlfriend Alannah Davidson.
Penn State left tackle Olu Fashanu had his girlfriend blocked by his mom from interacting with him after he was selected.

Former NFL running back LeSean McCoy is getting dragged online for telling on NBA legend and Hall of Famer Dikembe Mutombo as he suggested the 57-year-old was stepping out on his wife around eight years ago.
Mutombo, an eight-time All-Star who played for 18 seasons, met his wife Rose in 1995 and married her shortly after.
Speaking on his ‘25/10Show’ podcast, McCoy recalled a story about meeting a female he described as a “baddie” in Atlanta who told him she was seeing the four-time Defensive Player of the Year, who would take her on trips to France.
He said: “She told me he not that type of dude, you know he take good care of me…He don’t take me shopping, he takes me to France. I was like who is the dude? Guess what she said his name was? Dikembe Mutombo. I was like you’re taking him over me? But I get it, yeah he’s taking you shopping from PJ to France, I said babe, keep him.”
Fans Rip LeSean McCoy For Mentioning Mutombo’s Name
Fans did not appreciate Shady namedropping Mutombo, especially given that the former NBA center has been happily married for nearly 30 years.
“1. This doesn’t violate bro code cuss that’s not his bro. 2. He violated man code cuss name dropping when the situation could hurt my home is nasty. 3. It’s nasty cuss he ain’t have to say a name at all,” one wrote.
“D. Jack told him early like bro you a house wrecker. He thought he was gon get cool points for finishing the story lmao,” another pointed out.
“you must not know his actual nickname is Shady McCoy…he will name-drop in a minute,” a third suggested.
