Patrick Mahomes Breaks His Silence With a Blunt Truth About Who’s Really to Blame for the Chiefs’ Shocking Super Bowl Loss to the Eagles

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes accepts full blame for a series of miscues in the team’s humiliating 40-22 Super Bowl 59 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.

Nothing went right for Mahomes and the Chiefs in their bid to complete the first-ever Super Bowl three-peat on Sunday. Mahomes threw two interceptions (including a pick-six to Cooper DeJean), lost a fumble, and was sacked six times in the defeat.

At his post-game Super Bowl press conference, Patrick Mahomes took the blame for the back-breaking turnovers, per Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk:

“Obviously the turnovers hurt, I take all the blame for that,” Mahomes said. “Those early turnovers swing the momentum of the game and they capitalized on them. They scored on one and they got a touchdown immediately after, so that’s 14 points I kinda gave them. It’s hard to come back from that in a Super Bowl. Just didn’t play up to my standard and I have to play better next time.”

DeJean’s pick-six helped the Eagles build their lead to 17-0, but it was the next interception that essentially put the game on ice (yes, in the second quarter). Patrick Mahomes threw a pick to Zack Baun at the KC 14, and A.J. Brown’s walk-in touchdown put the Eagles up 24.

Mahomes finished with a stat line of 21 completions for 257 yards, three touchdowns, two interceptions and 25 rushing yards in the loss.

Patrick Mahomes’ Chiefs Could Look A Lot Different In 2025

Before the Super Bowl, it was reported by NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport that tight end Travis Kelce hasn’t decided on his future. DeAndre Hopkins, Marquise Brown, Justin Reid, Nick Bolton, Justin Watson, Kareem Hunt, JuJu Smith-Schuster and Mecole Hardman are all pending free agents, too.

It’s premature to call this the end of an era for the Chiefs. Remember, some folks thought the same when the New England Patriots lost to the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl 52, only to come back with a victory in the big game one year later.

However, GM Brett Veach must be ready to replace several key faces on both sides of the ball in 2025. The salary cap will not allow KC to run it back with this core.

VIDEO: Some Dude Just Dropped The Cold Hard Truth On Why All Of These NFL Prospects Are “Dating White Women”

Caleb Williams at NFL Draft

Unless this is your first day in America, then you know race relations in this country dominate just everything, and that includes NBA and NFL drafts

During the most recent NFL Draft in Detroit, social media was buzzing as athletes showed up to the red carpet event with their girlfriends and family. Many of the incoming NFL rookies were African-American and were spotted with white women, which has become the usual theme for years.

The same thing happens with the NBA Draft.

This year, the discourse on the NFL Draft and NBA Draft has gotten even louder as African-American women openly pondered why so many of the players never have a partner that is the same race as them.

One guy on TikTok decided to answer that question by revealing that the vast majority of his division-1 friends in college or headed to the league are dating or married to white women and explained why.

He stated that some of them had told him that their white girlfriend looked up to Taylor Swift while their girlfriend looked up to Megan The Stallion. He then states the guy asks how many white women he has seen doing the Megan Thee Stallion challenge as opposed to Black women.

He then dove into another story of a friend who relayed that his Black girlfriend started to request money from him as soon as she found out about his NIL money. She wanted her hair and nails done. He then added that the Black women would be upset if they went to places like Chipotle, and she demanded steak houses.
