What could potentially go wrong between Jimmy Butler and the Miami Heat? They might not come in terms with the rejoining procedure. Pat Riley will ask Jimmy to part off right away or something else. But the recently emerged shocking details could get the NBA team to redo their balance sheet.
As reported by the NBA insider Chris Haynes, the Heat had an accounting error that left Butler without a paycheck for as long as 10 days. During a recent episode of the podcast DraftKings Le Batard show, Haynes broke down the paycheck blunder.
“There was something else that rubbed Jimmy the wrong way toward the end of last summer. Jimmy and his camp were informed of a clerical—or excuse me, an accounting—error toward the end of last summer, he didn’t get his paycheck on that period. It took the team about ten days to fix it, but that had never happened before. You’ve got all of that going on, on top of an accounting error that delayed his paycheck. Things just started to feel a little bit off at that point,” the insider said.
However, the mutual disinterest from both the sides was evident in the recent some time. And Butler’s departure has become almost certain after he explained he lost the joy of playing at the camp. While the time is drying out fast for the February deadline, the front office is yet to decide the taker for their superstar.
Jimmy Butler’s Door To Milwaukee Bucks Is Still Open
Although, it’s hard to ignore the drama surrounding Jimmy Butler right now. And NBA fans are all eyes on the disgruntled Miami Heat forward. Recently, he made some pointed comments about his time in Miami, which only added fuel to the fire regarding his future with the team. With less than a month until the trade deadline, the notion of Butler potentially donning a Milwaukee Bucks uniform has become a hot topic.
Interestingly, instead of a firm “no” from Butler’s camp regarding a trade to Milwaukee, reports suggest that he hasn’t ruled it out. This opens the door for the Bucks to consider making a play for the star, especially as they look to strengthen their roster for a championship run.
However, making a move for Butler isn’t as simple as it might seem. The Bucks are currently wrestling with significant salary cap challenges that complicate any potential trade. They sit above the luxury tax line, which means they can’t easily ship out players without taking back equal salaries. This financial tangle puts them in a tough spot since key players like Khris Middleton and Brook Lopez could theoretically match Butler’s salary. But it would also strip the team of crucial depth.
Milwaukee’s front office now has to weigh the risks of decimating their roster for a chance at acquiring a superstar. Still, the fact that there’s no outright rejection from Butler about a potential move to Milwaukee opens up possibilities. If Butler is genuinely open to making the leap, it could ignite a real buzz among Bucks fans.
