The National Football League is set to be playing a Week 1 game in Brazil again in 2025 and it looks like it’ll be an AFC West showdown.
According to Nate Taylor and Daniel R. Popper of The Athletic, the reigning AFC Champions Kansas City Chiefs are “the favorite” to face the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 1 in Brazil.
The Chiefs will have their face share of standalone games in 2025 as they will likely host a Christmas Day game, again. Per the report, the Chiefs are expected to play on Christmas for the third straight year and they have requested that the NFL make them a fixture on the holiday the same way that the Cowboys and Lions are annual participants in Thanksgiving games.
The league is set to have three games on Christmas this year and the 2025 season will include seven total international games.
