Saquon Barkley’s college GPA has become a topic of discussion ahead of the player’s first Super Bowl appearance.
Barkley, an MVP finalist in his first season with the Philadelphia Eagles, was named the Offensive Player of the Year this week. He is now looking to help his team win their second chip after a stellar season that saw him set multiple records and come close to taking down a longstanding one.
The New York Giants drafted the running back as the second overall pick in 2018 after he starred for Penn State.
Barkley played 38 games for the Nittany Lions, rushing for 3,843 yards and 43 touchdowns, adding 102 receptions, 1,195 receiving yards, and eight scores.
He signed a three-year deal worth $37.75 million with the Eagles last year and wasted very little time becoming their most potent threat on offense, helping them return to the Super Bowl, where they will look to dethrone the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday.
Saquon Barkley Was Just as Effective In The Classroom
Back in college, the New York native was a stud both on and off the field, with Penn State head coach James Franklin revealing he had a GPA of over 3.0.
“I think Saquon Barkley is a perfect example of what we’re doing, he showed up on campus and all he did was embrace everything that we asked him to do,” Franklin noted in 2017. “He has over a 3.0 GPA. He is humble, hard-working. He’s appreciative. He is kind. He’s also 5-11, 220 pounds and runs 4.3.”
The star rusher graduated from Penn State as part of the 2022 class, having majored in Communications.
A first-time first-team All-Pro in 2024 and now a three-time Pro Bowler, the NFL’s reigning Offensive Player of the Year has achieved most of what he set to in the pros. He can cap it off with a Super Bowl win with his new team on Sunday.
What’s more, he could complete the feat on his birthday.
VIDEO: Some Dude Just Dropped The Cold Hard Truth On Why All Of These NFL Prospects Are “Dating White Women”
Unless this is your first day in America, then you know race relations in this country dominate just everything, and that includes NBA and NFL drafts
During the most recent NFL Draft in Detroit, social media was buzzing as athletes showed up to the red carpet event with their girlfriends and family. Many of the incoming NFL rookies were African-American and were spotted with white women, which has become the usual theme for years.
The same thing happens with the NBA Draft.
This year, the discourse on the NFL Draft and NBA Draft has gotten even louder as African-American women openly pondered why so many of the players never have a partner that is the same race as them.
One guy on TikTok decided to answer that question by revealing that the vast majority of his division-1 friends in college or headed to the league are dating or married to white women and explained why.
He stated that some of them had told him that their white girlfriend looked up to Taylor Swift while their girlfriend looked up to Megan The Stallion. He then states the guy asks how many white women he has seen doing the Megan Thee Stallion challenge as opposed to Black women.
He then dove into another story of a friend who relayed that his Black girlfriend started to request money from him as soon as she found out about his NIL money. She wanted her hair and nails done. He then added that the Black women would be upset if they went to places like Chipotle, and she demanded steak houses.
