Controversial referee Scott Foster isn’t a very popular figure among current NBA players and it would appear Shaquille O’Neal isn’t his biggest fan either. Foster has had run-ins on the court with many players over the years, most notably Chris Paul, so not many would have felt too sorry for him when he went down with an injury recently.
Foster suffered a calf injury during Monday’s game between the New York Knicks and the Miami Heat at Madison Square Garden and has been ruled out indefinitely. The 57-year-old is at risk of missing the NBA Playoffs and O’Neal certainly isn’t too sad about that. The Hall of Famer harshly commented “good” on an Instagram post relaying that news.
You hate to say it, but O’Neal is unlikely to be the only one with this kind of reaction. Foster has drawn the ire of so many around the league over the years and players might just be relieved if they don’t have to deal with him in these playoffs.
In addition to clashing with players, Foster has also earned the nickname “The Extender” from fans, as they believe he extends the series he officiates. He had ties with disgraced former official Tim Donaghy as well and is just a controversial figure in all.

Whatever one thinks of Foster, though, you’d hope the injury isn’t anything too serious. Despite all the controversies, the NBA regards him as one of the best officials around, and the league would want him back on the court as soon as possible
