Football fans are ripping on NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport because of the way he worded a tweet about Colorado Buffaloes quarterback Shedeur Sanders about the NFL Scouting Combine.
On Sunday afternoon, Ian Rapoport reported on X/Twitter that Shedeur Sanders will not throw at next month’s NFL Scouting Combine. Instead, the 23-year-old will “focus on his interviews” and let “his four years of film to speak loudly.”
Instead of throwing at the combine, Sanders will throw to draft-eligible Colorado wide receivers at his Pro Day, Rapoport added.
Fans were critical of Rapoport because of the way he worded the X post:
“Long way of saying he won’t be throwing at the combine,” one fan said.
“This is a lot of words that don’t really say anything,” wrote another.
“Lol, nice copy and paste from his agent,” a fan quipped.
“This post brought to you by Colorado PR,” a user remarked.
“Prime clearly wrote this statement 😂,” wrote another.
“So is your editor Deion?,” asked a fan.
Shedeur Sanders and Miami’s Cam Ward are regarded as the top two quarterback prospects in the 2025 NFL Draft Class. But scouts and analysts are divided on both of them, with some opining that neither should even be a top-10 pick.
But there’s another thing working in Shedeur’s favor that will make him an early pick. He’s the son of Hall of Famer Deion Sanders, and Shedeur’s star power and draw will sell a lot of tickets and merchandise wherever he lands.

The 6-foot-2, 215-pound Sanders is coming off a tremendous 2024 season in which he threw for 4,134 yards, 37 touchdowns and 10 interceptions to go along with four rushing touchdowns.
There are plenty of QB-needy teams heading into the offseason, so don’t be surprised if Sanders and Ward both end up being top-five picks.
