Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr and Boston Celtics star Jayson Tatum had a dispute during the 2024 Paris Olympics. Kerr coached the Team USA men’s basketball team, and Tatum was one of its players.
Despite Tatum being the 2023-24 NBA Champion, Kerr decided to bench him for multiple games, which sparked controversy within the NBA community. Analysts, players, and fans criticized Kerr for his controversial decision. Recently, Kerr addressed the incident in an interview, during which he praised how maturely Tatum handled the surrounding controversy related to the Olympics.
“We texted after the game in Boston a couple of months ago and we talked last night after the game. I will tell you that Jayson was an absolute dream to coach. During all that stuff, that so called controversy, you might notice there wasn’t a single quote from Jayson. It was everybody else talking about it. Jayson is an amazing guy and an incredible player and he couldn’t have handled it any better when he was there.” Kerr said.
The Warriors recently played the Celtics at the Chase Center, resulting in one of the most disappointing defeats of the 2024-25 NBA regular season. The Celtics won the game decisively, with a final score of 125-85, marking a 40-point lead.
Fans Rebuke Steve Kerr After His Take On Jayson Tatum
During the interview, Kerr praised Tatum for his impressive handling of the criticism and controversy surrounding the decision. However, this endorsement did not sit well with many fans.
When Legion Hoops shared a clip of Kerr’s remarks on X (formerly Twitter), a wave of discontent arose, with fans criticizing his choices made during the 2024 Paris Olympics. Notably, several fans asserted that Boston would never overlook Kerr’s past decisions.
Some supporters praised Tatum for adeptly navigating the criticism, while others voiced their exasperation with Kerr for persistently revisiting the Olympics controversy, declaring their fatigue over his continual references to the incident.
After the recent loss to the Celtics, the Warriors currently sit in the 11th spot in the Western Conference standings with a 21-21 record. Meanwhile, the Celtics hold the second spot in the Eastern Conference standings with a 30-13 record.
VIDEO: Some Dude Just Dropped The Cold Hard Truth On Why All Of These NFL Prospects Are “Dating White Women”
Unless this is your first day in America, then you know race relations in this country dominate just everything, and that includes NBA and NFL drafts.
During the most recent NFL Draft in Detroit, social media was buzzing as athletes showed up to the red carpet event with their girlfriends and family. Many of the incoming NFL rookies were African-American and were spotted with white women, which has become the usual theme for years.
The same thing happens with the NBA Draft.
This year, the discourse on the NFL Draft and NBA Draft has gotten even louder as African-American women openly pondered why so many of the players never have a partner that is the same race as them.
One guy on TikTok decided to answer that question by revealing that the vast majority of his division-1 friends in college or headed to the league are dating or married to white women and explained why.
He stated that some of them had told him that their white girlfriend looked up to Taylor Swift while their girlfriend looked up to Megan The Stallion. He then states the guy asks how many white women he has seen doing the Megan Thee Stallion challenge as opposed to Black women.
He then dove into another story of a friend who relayed that his Black girlfriend started to request money from him as soon as she found out about his NIL money. She wanted her hair and nails done. He then added that the Black women would be upset if they went to places like Chipotle, and she demanded steak houses.

Commissioner Roger Goodell took the stage Thursday for the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft in Detroit, and many players showed up, ready to hear their names called.
Many women online noticed that some players in the NFL Draft who were Black did not have the same color girlfriend on their arm.
Some of those players included Caleb Williams, who hit the red carpet at the 2024 NFL Draft in Detroit with girlfriend Alina Thyregod by his side.
Washington wide receiver Rome Odunze showed up with girlfriend Alannah Davidson.
Penn State left tackle Olu Fashanu had his girlfriend blocked by his mom from interacting with him after he was selected.

Former NFL running back LeSean McCoy is getting dragged online for telling on NBA legend and Hall of Famer Dikembe Mutombo as he suggested the 57-year-old was stepping out on his wife around eight years ago.
Mutombo, an eight-time All-Star who played for 18 seasons, met his wife Rose in 1995 and married her shortly after.
Speaking on his ‘25/10Show’ podcast, McCoy recalled a story about meeting a female he described as a “baddie” in Atlanta who told him she was seeing the four-time Defensive Player of the Year, who would take her on trips to France.
He said: “She told me he not that type of dude, you know he take good care of me…He don’t take me shopping, he takes me to France. I was like who is the dude? Guess what she said his name was? Dikembe Mutombo. I was like you’re taking him over me? But I get it, yeah he’s taking you shopping from PJ to France, I said babe, keep him.”
Fans Rip LeSean McCoy For Mentioning Mutombo’s Name
Fans did not appreciate Shady namedropping Mutombo, especially given that the former NBA center has been happily married for nearly 30 years.
“1. This doesn’t violate bro code cuss that’s not his bro. 2. He violated man code cuss name dropping when the situation could hurt my home is nasty. 3. It’s nasty cuss he ain’t have to say a name at all,” one wrote.
“D. Jack told him early like bro you a house wrecker. He thought he was gon get cool points for finishing the story lmao,” another pointed out.
“you must not know his actual nickname is Shady McCoy…he will name-drop in a minute,” a third suggested.
