Angel Reese wants it all from the WNBA, but her recent performance is not standing by her side. During her latest outing for the Rose BC against the Vinyl BC, Reese’s showing was far from commendable.
A video recently went viral where Reese was struggling to put in a layup against the Vinyl BC’s defense. Despite multiple tries, it ended in an unsuccessful attempt just to find herself humiliated on the internet.
WNBA fans did not hold back as they criticized Reese’s performance during the game. Despite finishing with a double-double, 10 points, and 13 rebounds, Reese’s shooting was lackluster. She went 5-13 from the field with no attempts from three-point range. However, social media was abuzz with mocking comments for her struggles with layups and midrange shots.
The social media humiliation came in the wake of the Chicago Sky star’s voicing for fair pay for WNBA stars. While the game is gaining popularity and rising ratings, it has led players like Angel Reese and Dijonai Carrington to advocate for higher salaries.
With the existing collective bargaining agreement (CBA) set to expire and the WNBPA opting out, players are preparing for negotiations that could result in significant changes by the fall of 2025.
Reese recently voiced for fair compensation as the league is already growing. Carrington also supported the Sky rookie’s endorsement. Additionally, Reese expressed her urgency in attending player union meetings and hinted at the potential for a strike if their demands are not met.
Internet Fans Slam Angel Reese For Poor Sequence During Vinyl BC Game
Despite the ribbing, Rose BC secured a decisive victory over Vinyl BC with a score of 74-46. Veteran guard Chelsea Gray led the way with 33 points, and Brittney Sykes added 18 points. This win positioned Rose BC in second place in the Unrivaled standings.
However, the mid-game fumble has led to widespread online scrutiny for Reese.
“But she wants to be paid more,” a fan commented.
“This the one saying the WNBA gonna go into a lockout if she doesn’t get what she wants lmaooo,” another fan commented.
“But remember she thinks she should be paid as much as NBA players are,” a fan joked.
“She fell on her wrist might’ve injured and played through it btw until the coach took her out the tape is on her wrist,” a fan pointed.
“How will the sport of basketball survive if she sits out?” a fan asked.
Unfortunately, Reese’s game took a turn when she suffered a wrist injury in the third quarter, leading to her exit from the game.
