Former NFL quarterback Tom Brady has been accused of showing a “lack of respect” for his predecessors after making an “unprecedented” change to his autograph.
Brady is a shoo-in for the Pro Football Hall of Fame after winning seven Super Bowls. However, he will not be eligible until 2028 because he retired in 2023, and players need to be out of the league for at least five years to enter the Hall.
Well aware that his name will be the first to be tendered, the FOX broadcaster has been adding “HOF 2028” to his autograph.
According to cllct, the TB12 Collection from PSA/DNA contains at least seven cards with the inscription from the future Hall of Famer.

Autograph expert Steve Grad has criticized Brady’s decision to add the Hall of Fame inscription to his autograph, claiming the ex-QB lacks respect for those who came before him.
“His lack of respect for the people that came before him and earned the honor is obvious,” Grad told cllct.
The publication notes that collectors will pay extra for autographed cards bearing an added inscription, but players writing one in before they are actually inducted is not something that is practiced.
According to PSA, Brady’s “HOF 2028” cards will not be available for purchase until the former Patriots and Buccaneers star becomes a HOFer. A Brady rookie card is listed on PSA’s eBay page for $6,600 but shows up as out of stock.
Meanwhile, it was recently announced that Tom Brady was buying a 50 percent ownership stake in Boston-based retailer CardVault and renaming it to “CardVault by Tom Brady.”
