Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix played through a painful back injury over the final two months of the season, the rookie told reporters on Monday.
One day after the Buffalo Bills eliminated the Broncos in the Wild Card Round, Bo Nix revealed that he suffered a transverse process fracture in Week 12 against the Las Vegas Raiders.
The Oregon product emphasized that he was determined to play the following week, a home Monday Night Football clash against the Cleveland Browns. Nix got the injury treated and suited up every game the rest of the way.
Here’s what Nix said about the injury, per Mike Klis of 9News:
“The biggest week was I had a transverse process fracture in my back. That week got treatment, made it through that week. Monday Night Football was a stretch where we were all kind of banged up. And I wasn’t going to miss the first Monday night game. I got treatment on it and then we were fortunate to have an off (bye) week the next week and it kind of went away after that.
That moment was annoying but we all play with something.”
Bo Nix had one of the greatest quarterback rookie seasons in recent memory, completing 66.3 percent of pass attempts for 3,775 yards, 29 touchdowns and 12 interceptions to go along with 430 rushing yards and four rushing scores.
Nix helped the Broncos to a 10-7 finish and the franchise’s first playoff berth since 2015, the year they won the Super Bowl in Peyton Manning’s swan song year. But Denver was no match for the heavily-favored Bills, who cruised to a 31-7 victory at Highmark Stadium to set up a Divisional Round tilt with the Baltimore Ravens.
Broncos Future Is Bright With Bo Nix
The Broncos were stuck in quarterback purgatory for nearly a decade, with the likes of Trevor Siemian, Brock Osweiler, Paxton Lynch, Drew Lock, Joe Flacco and even Russell Wilson failing to address the franchise’s need for a quality signal-caller.
But the Broncos have finally found their guy in Bo Nix, who will only improve after a dazzling rookie year under Sean Payton. Nix put up excellent numbers with a lackluster supporting cast that offered very little outside of Courtland Sutton, so he’ll be in line for a monster sophomore year if GM George Paton can upgrade the offense further.

Las Vegas Aces star A’ja Wilson has emerged as one of the most prominent figures in women’s basketball. Her outstanding achievements and dominant performances on the court have boosted her confidence in her skills. However, this confidence has recently caused her some trouble, as NBA fans criticized her for a recent statement she made.
In a recent episode of the “Roommates” show, Wilson stunned both the NBA and WNBA by claiming that she could defeat New York Knicks star Josh Hart in a one-on-one matchup. Additionally, she predicted that the final score would be 11-8.
“Score would be 11-8, me. I’m not saying you gonna go scoreless, 8 to 11 is pretty solid. So, what do you think it’ll be, Josh?” Wilson said.
Although Josh and Wilson both had a good laugh during their conversation, Wilson’s comment stirred up the basketball community. “She’d lose 11-0 w him only playing w his offhand,” one fan said.
