Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers said he doesn’t know what his future holds while speaking to reporters after Sunday’s win over the Dolphins.
Rodgers and the Jets closed their season out with a victory, finishing the campaign with a 5-12 record to end his second term with the team.
The QB isn’t expected to return to NY next season, while there are also suggestions that he could retire. But he was in no hurry to announce a decision on his future after his final game.
“I don’t know… I’m looking forward to those conversations with Woody [and the front office],” Rodgers told reporters, though he admitted he wouldn’t divulge any information even if he had any.
The four-time MVP would also make it clear that any decision to retire would not be because he couldn’t do it at a high level anymore.
“I know I can still play,” he said, per a team transcript. “I know I can still do the things I need to do to be successful. It just comes down to the desire on their side and, ultimately, my desire to play. Going to take some time mentally and physically to rest and relax.”
Aaron Rodgers Hit A Career Milestone On Sunday
The veteran QB did give a great account of himself in Sunday’s game, helping the Jets to a 32-20 win, throwing four touchdowns, including a 500th career TD.
He said the touchdowns would not factor into his decision for his future and would need time to figure out whether he wants to keep playing before deciding on other things.
As for the Jets, they will need to hire a general manager and head coach before they can really start planning for the upcoming 2025 season, but it will be interesting to see which direction they choose to go.

The San Antonio Spurs have a few issues at the camp, and 12-time NBA All-Star guard Chris Paul knows them well. The veteran point guard is keen to team up with a Sacramento Kings star amid rising trade speculation ahead of the deadline.
Recent reports have surfaced suggesting that Paul wants to bring in De’Aaron Fox to San Antonio. After their lackluster performance this season, the Spurs are eager to make moves to enhance their playoff prospects. Although this trade looks possible for a few reasons. The Spurs have expressed interest in acquiring Fox, and so he has already declined a lucrative contract extension.
NBA insider Marc Stein claimed, “The Texas team is more likely to pursue a down-the-road Fox trade.” According to league insider Brandon “Scoop B” Robinson’s Monday report, Paul would welcome the opportunity to join forces with Fox.
“Something else I’ve heard: Chris Paul would like to team up with De’Aaron Fox in San Antonio,” league insider Brandon “Scoop B” Robinson wrote on Monday.
However, CP is in the final leg of his storied basketball career. He also views Fox as a long-term co-star for San Antonio alongside Victor Wembanyama.
