On Saturday, Wofford took on Samford at Jerry Richardson Indoor Stadium in Spartanburg, S.C., but despite their efforts, they fell short in a 68-76 loss. However, the game’s biggest highlight wasn’t the final score. Rather, it was Wofford’s starting big man, Kyler Filewich, and his unconventional free-throw shooting technique.
Filewich has become an internet celebrity after a clip of him taking a free throw with an underhand “granny-style” shooting form went viral. It’s a rare but effective method famously used by NBA legend Rick Barry, who was one of the greatest free-throw shooters in basketball history. Fans were both surprised and entertained by Filewich’s decision to embrace this old-school technique.
Despite Wofford’s loss, Filewich had a standout performance. He scored 18 points, grabbed nine rebounds (six defensive, three offensive), and dished out three assists. Most notably, he led his team in free throws, going 6-for-10 from the line. This marked a new career high for him in free throws made in a single game.
Kyler Filewich Finds Success With Underhand Free Throws
Kyler Filewich has never been a reliable free-throw shooter throughout his college career. Over the last two seasons, his percentage from the charity stripe has been historically low.
In fact, in five seasons of college basketball, he had never shot better than 50% from the free-throw line. However, his recent switch to the underhand technique appears to be making a real difference.
His improvement was already on display in Wofford’s previous game against The Citadel, where he shot 4-for-6 from the line. This drastic improvement has given both his team and fans hope that he can continue refining his shooting and become more consistent at the line.
If his accuracy continues to improve, he may inspire more struggling free-throw shooters to give the “granny-style” method a shot. For now, even in defeat, Filewich is in the basketball spotlight for all the right reasons.

For those unaware, she is a female criminal in the game. Grand Theft Auto states that she did her time at a prison complex in the State of Leonida in the mid-2020s for an unknown crime.

Fans Have Waited A Long Time For Grand Theft Auto To Release New Game
After more than a decade of waiting, Grand Theft Auto VI is supposedly finally set to come out in 2025.
Despite their hopes for a release this year fading, the community remains engaged in hopes that a second trailer will be released in early 2025 and a release date of the actual game will come out.
With each passing day, the desire for more news grows stronger.
Hopefully, 2025 will give the fans what they so desperately want.
