GB News’s regular programming was halted for breaking news as presenter Ben Leo revealed that the former Duke of York,Ā Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor,Ā has had his gun licence revoked. Following his numerous scandals and theĀ relinquishment of his titles and honours, this latest update came after a police visit to the Royal Lodge. The broadcaster was joined by MailOnline’s editor-at-large Charlotte Griffiths, who said: “It’s no surprise, this man could not be more cancelled, if he tried.

“There’s nowhere lower for him to go; the only thing he has left to do in his social life is go riding, and we have seen him riding in the recent days, looking totally miserable, and go shooting, and it sounds like that’s been taken away from him.” Highlighting potential risk, Griffiths added: “This is total anecdotal, but there is this saying in the posh communities that there are two people who are most at risk of suicide and it’s farmers and aristos … becasue those are the people that have access to guns and you dont want anyone who’s having any kind of mental health troubles to have easy access, unsupervised to a gun.”

The presenter then probed into allegations of Mounbatten-Windsor being a “hoarder” and “being forced to go through decades’ worth of belongings.”

“Yeah, I have heard that,” the journalist responded. “I’ve heard that he is something of a hoarder and a couch potato, and he has let entire rooms at his house stack up with muddles of documents, photos, just junk. We know he keeps 14 teddy bears on his bed.

“He is having to go through piece by piece, and apparently, he’s being really protective about those items; he doesn’t want somebody coming in and helping, and at the same time, it’s not the kind of stuff that you can just clear out and shove into a skip.”

Griffiths continued: “There’s only one man who can go through all this stuff, when he downsizes, and that’sĀ Prince Andrew, and he’s the worst qualified person in a way because it’s all very meaningful to him, he’s at a low ebb, he’s been chucked out of his house and doesn’t feel he should have been. So, really, he’s making very slow progress, and there’s mountains of mountains to get through.

“At the same time, his ex-wife [Sarah Ferguson] is also moving out of the property and she’s been there for donkey’s years as well, so its all a bit of a muddle and a bit of a mess, and I can hardly blame the police for wanting to keep tabs on whether there are guns in the house as well.”

It isĀ believed that Andrew, who hasĀ regularly hosted shooting partiesĀ over the years, can now only use and transport his shotguns whenĀ accompanied by someone. It is reported that he owns shotguns and rifles by James Purdey and Sons.

According to a source viaĀ The Sun:Ā ā€œHe will be under strict supervision. It is a real blow.

“He will now not be able to do things like use guns on his own or even transport them unless he is under strict supervision. It is a real blow to him.”

A Met Police spokesperson told the publication: “On Wednesday, November 19, firearms licensing officers attended an address in Windsor to request that a man in his 60s voluntarily surrender his firearms and shotgun certificate.

“The certificate was surrendered, and we will not be commenting any further at this stage.”
