Aletter King Charles once wrote to his grandmother, The Queen Mother, was previously sold for thousands after it was discovered.
A couple was left stunned in 2023 after finding a handwritten childhood letter from the monarch while clearing out their attic.
The letter, written in 1955 by a six-year-old Charles, was addressed to an ailing Queen Mother, who was born 125 years ago today (August 4), as he wished her well.

Adorable letter from young King Charles to his ‘ill granny’ revealed
A couple found the sweet letter written by a young Charles to his “ill granny” in a loft in 2023.
The note was written on Buckingham Palace notepaper and was dated March 15, 1955.
The letter, addressed to Charles’ sick grandma, read: “Dear Granny, I am sorry that you are ill. I hope you will be better soon.”
On the back of the paper, Charles also added: “Lots of love from Charles.”
He then signed the letter off with colourful scribbles and kisses. The letter was found during a Christmas break clear-out by a couple who lived near Stratford-Upon-Avon.

Royal memorabilia discovered in couple’s home
The couple stumbled across the letter in a folder along with other royal memorabilia. It had been lying in a cardboard box for more than 40 years.
Talking about his discovery, the unnamed seller said: “We finally had the time to look through a big box file that my mother had given to us. It originally belonged to my late grandad, Roland Stockdale.
“It contained lots of royal memorabilia, including a letter from Prince Charles to his grandmother. My wife said, ‘Wow, look at that.’ We were pretty gobsmacked, but we weren’t sure whether anyone would be interested in it.”

Roland reportedly worked with many royals and was “involved in helping to protect the Queen Mother”.
The letter went on sale at Hansons Auctioneers in Staffordshire in 2023, with a guide price of £2,000 to £3,000. However, it sold for £7,000 ($9k) at the time.

As reported by the BBC, Charles Hanson, owner of Hansons Auctioneers, said: “I was not at all surprised by the strong demand for these remarkable royal finds.
“The childhood letter from King Charles, written with painstaking care on lined paper, is heartwarming.
“Amid recent royal family rifts, it was lovely to see a simple demonstration of affection sent from a boy to his granny.”
