BOMBSHELL: Prince Harry eyes major Diana project amid Earl Spencer’s explosive new memoir
Prince Harry is reportedly considering a major new project about his late mother, Princess Diana, as the 30th anniversary of her death approaches.
The Duke of Sussex is said to have contacted people who were close to Diana, as well as her younger brother Earl Spencer, while exploring the possibility of a documentary about her life and legacy.
According to The Telegraph, discussions have taken place about a potential film, although no project has yet been officially confirmed.
A source told the publication that Harry is still considering how best to mark the anniversary.
“He is still considering the most meaningful way to honor her legacy during this important anniversary year,” the insider said.
The report also claimed Harry has discussed several possible projects rather than committing solely to a documentary.
Harry Reportedly Contacts Diana’s Inner Circle
Harry is understood to have approached some of the people who knew his mother personally to discuss their possible involvement.
Earl Spencer, whose own new memoir about Diana has generated significant headlines, was reportedly among those contacted.
The potential documentary could be overseen by Harry and Meghan Markle’s Archewell Productions.
Netflix has also been suggested as a possible home for the project because of the couple’s existing first-look partnership with the streaming platform.
However, there has been no formal announcement confirming that Archewell or Netflix will produce or distribute such a film.
The source stressed that Harry is still considering his options.
Documentary Plans First Reported Earlier This Month
Reports that Harry was considering a Diana documentary first emerged earlier this month.
The Daily Mail claimed the Duke had been contacting friends and others who knew his mother to ask whether they might contribute to a film.
Royal commentator Richard Kay reported that Harry had already begun reaching out to members of Diana’s circle.
If the documentary goes ahead, it would not be the first time Harry has taken part in a major television project dedicated to his mother.
In 2017, he and Prince William appeared together in Diana, Our Mother: Her Life and Legacy, which marked the 20th anniversary of Diana’s death.
At the time, the brothers reflected together on memories of their mother and her influence on their lives.
Their relationship has since become strained, with William and Harry remaining estranged for several years.
Earl Spencer Revisits Diana’s Story
The reports about Harry’s possible documentary come as Earl Spencer publishes his own deeply personal account of Diana’s life.
His memoir, Swan Song: Diana, My Sister, explores their relationship, Diana’s struggles and the period surrounding her death.
The book has already attracted widespread attention because of Spencer’s claims about members of the Royal Family and his recollections of events following Diana’s death.
