Adam Thomas Recalls Terrifying Teenage Bus Ordeal After Weapon Was Held to His Head

Adam Thomas has opened up about a frightening incident from his teenage years, revealing that a loaded gun was once held against his head while he was traveling on a double-decker bus.

The Emmerdale and Waterloo Road actor, now 38, shared the story during an episode of his At Home With The Thomas Bros podcast alongside his brothers Scott and Ryan Thomas.

Adam said he was around 14 or 15 years old when the incident happened.

“I got a gun pulled to my head on a bus,” he recalled. “It was when I was like, how old was I? About 15, 14. And I was sat at the back of the bus on a double decker.”

According to Adam, a group of youths boarded the bus before one of them produced the weapon and held it against his head.

At first, he did not believe it was real.

“This group of lads got on and they basically pulled out a gun and put it to my head and I thought it was like a pretend gun,” he said.

That changed when the group showed him the ammunition inside.

“Then they took the like revolver out and showed me all the bullets,” Adam said, adding that the moment left him terrified.

Adam Said the Reality of the Situation Hit Him Suddenly

The actor’s account focused on how quickly the situation changed from something he initially dismissed into a moment of genuine fear.

Sitting at the back of the bus, Adam initially assumed the weapon was fake.

But once he was shown the bullets, he realized the situation was far more serious than he had thought.

He described the experience in blunt terms on the podcast, making clear just how badly shaken he had been at the time.

The incident is one of several deeply personal stories Adam and his brothers have discussed on their podcast.

Thomas Brothers Also Open Up About Mother Gail’s Hospital Ordeal

Adam previously recalled seeing his mother in significant pain after she left hospital.

On July 8, he told listeners that Gail had called him to ask for a lift home.

“She rang me to pick her up from the hospital,” he said.

Adam admitted that seeing her in that condition affected him.

“It’s the first time I saw her in quite a lot of pain, and looked at her and thought she’s getting older.”

Because Gail was not well enough to stay alone, Adam brought her to stay with him for several days while she recovered.

Scott Thomas later described receiving an urgent call from their mother.

He said Gail phoned him and screamed: “Get round here now.”

When he arrived, Scott found her on the floor in severe pain.

“She was like, ‘I’ve called an ambulance, I don’t know what’s going to happen. I think I’m dying’,” he recalled.

Paramedics initially believed she may have had a stomach bug and helped calm her down.

However, her pain did not go away.

Around 48 hours later, Gail contacted Scott again because she was still suffering.

Gail Was Eventually Diagnosed With Gallstones

Scott said the problem returned again on the third day, prompting another ambulance call.

“The third day, she rang me again and said it had come back again,” he explained.

After returning to hospital, Gail was diagnosed with gallstones.

Doctors later removed her gallbladder.

Scott praised his mother for how she handled the experience, describing her as “an absolute soldier.”

For Adam, both stories showed very different kinds of fear.

One came from a terrifying encounter during his teenage years, when what he first believed was a fake weapon turned out to be real.

The other came decades later, as he and his brothers watched their mother struggle through a painful medical emergency.

By sharing both on the podcast, the Thomas brothers gave listeners a more personal look at moments that had left a lasting impact on their family.
