BREAKING NEWS: ITV issue update on The Masked Singer as huge name joins ‘rival panel’

Alan Carr is set to join the roster of well-known personalities appearing on ITV’s popular programme The Masked Singer. The former Celebrity Traitors winner has called his latest television assignment a ‘dream come true’ as he becomes part of the celebrity judging panel alongside Davina McCall, Mo Gilligan, Maya Jama and Jonathan Ross.
ITV confirmed the announcement on Friday (July 30), but there will be a “twist” to the upcoming series with Alan’s participation. The broadcaster stated: “In a series twist, Alan Carr with his razor-sharp wit, infectious laugh and hilarious commentary, will be bringing his own rival team of detectives, the ‘Wild Cards’, to the show with him to guess the identities of the celebrities hidden behind the masks.

“Carr and his team will go head to head against rival super-sleuths Davina McCall, Mo Gilligan, Maya Jama and Jonathan Ross, now known as the ‘Legends’.
“Carr and his team will aim to give the ‘Legends’ a run for their money to work out who is behind the masks and be crowned the best detectives of The Masked Singer 2027.”
Joel Dommett also makes a comeback to present the musical guessing competition, reports the Liverpool Echo.

Alan has previously featured as a guest panellist, so the comedian is thoroughly thrilled to return in a regular capacity.

Discussing the thrilling professional opportunity, Alan said: “I can’t wait to play detective – so excited to be shouting ‘take it off’ in the actual studio rather than on my settee at home. A dream come true.”
Produced by Bandicoot Scotland, The Masked Singer has attracted over 12 million viewers this year, including 1.4m 16-34s.

A well-known fixture on British television for many years, Alan Carr most recently claimed victory on the inaugural series of Celebrity Traitors.
He also appears alongside Britain’s Got Talent judge Amanda Holden in their popular home renovation programme set across Spain and Italy, Amanda and Alan’s Spanish Job and Italian Job.
