BREAKING NEWS: Meghan Markle faces ‘sad’ reality as ‘burned bridges will never be forgotten’

Meghan Markle may be facing a “sad” situation as “burned bridges will never be forgotten”, according to one royal commentator.

The 44-year-old has witnessed her public standing plummet since relinquishing her role as a working royal in 2020, with both the Duke and Duchess of Sussex maintaining strained relations with numerous members of the Firm.

The commentator also suggested that the persistent dispute with the Prince and Princess of Wales will probably never be completely mended.

Speaking to the People’s Channel, seasoned broadcaster Simon Vigar said: “I can’t see the rift with the family, particularly with William and Catherine; it’s obviously never going to go back to the way it was, which is terribly sad.”

Addressing the prospect of the Sussexes rejoining the Firm, he continued: “If they were to come back, which I don’t see happening anytime soon, and share the load once William and Catherine are on the throne, maybe then, but I don’t think Harry wants it, and I’m pretty sure Meghan doesn’t want to, and I don’t think they care.”

Examining their damaged connections with much of the family, he stated: “They’ve burned a lot of bridges and invaded a lot of other people’s privacy along the way. And that will never be forgiven or forgotten, really.”

The commentator’s remarks surface just weeks after Meghan made an unexpected return to the UK earlier this month, accompanied by her two children.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex received an invitation from the King and Queen to attend a gathering at Highgrove House on July 10.

The gathering marked the first occasion the King had seen his two youngest grandchildren face-to-face since 2022.

The Sussexes did not encounter William and Catherine during their stay, with the couple undertaking a number of official duties throughout their time in the UK.

Meghan posted to Instagram earlier this week, sharing several photographs from the family’s “summer holiday” – including their trip to the UK.

The photographs featured numerous images of Archie and Lilibet, including shots of them at the Althorp estate, where Princess Diana is buried.
