The 1975 frontman Matty Healy has tied the knot with model and actress Gabbriette Bechtel.
A statement shared from the couple’s representatives said: “Matty Healy and Gabbriette Bechtel were married yesterday at a private ceremony in Los Angeles, attended by their family and close friends.”
The star-studded wedding was held at Madonna’s former estate Castillo del Lago, a Spanish Colonial Revival Mansion located in the Hollywood Hills.
His mum, Loose Women star Denise Welch was in attendance, as well as a host of celebrity guests, including singer Charli XCX, various influencers and social media stars. The newly-weds beamed as they celebrated their first kiss as man and wife, with Matty seen dipping his wife back while he planted a kiss, with 28-year-old Gabbriette gleefully kicking her leg up in the air.

While Matty kept it classic in a black tuxedo, Gabbriette stunned in a gorgeous white dress. The voluminous skirt had an embroidered train, and was topped with a sculpted bodice and sweetheart neckline, with the top featuring ruffled long sleeves. She added a cathedral length veil, bringing extra drama to the old Hollywood themed wedding and dress code.
Matty popped the question to Gabbriette in 2024, with them first dating in September 2023. Announcing their engagement, she shared a photo of her striking black ring, adding: “Marrying the 1975 is very Brat.”
The couple had their wedding rehearsal the day before, with a photographer present to capture their trial run. Shared by TMZ, the couple were seen leaving the Hollywood venue in a black Rolls-Royce convertible, before partying with their nearest and dearest at the Rainbow Bar & Grill in West Hollywood.

Speaking earlier this year about their wedding plans, Matty’s mum, Denise Welch, said: “Matty lives in Los Angeles. The boys aren’t in each other’s pockets, but they’re there for each other.”
Opening up on Tom Hirschsprung’s podcast, she went on: “Matty gets married in July, which we’re very excited about. I’m very excited about that, that’s wonderful.”
After their engagement was announced, Denise said on Loose Women: “I couldn’t be more thrilled. We couldn’t be happier – she is everything I would want in a daughter-in-law. I’m thrilled.”
Matty’s ex, Taylor Swift, also recently got married, to her NFL star partner Travis Kelce. Taylor and Matty split up back in June 2023. They were first linked back in 2014, with the couple briefly rekindling their romance in 2023 for less than a month. The duo got back together in May but called it quits by early June.
Taylor and Travis said “I do” at Madison Square Garden in front of 1,000 guests on July 3. All guests had been asked to hand over their phones before the ceremony so no leaks could filter from the event. Days later, Greg James let fans in on the occasion while chatting on his Radio 1 breakfast show.
He called it the “wedding of the century” saying it was like going to Madame Tussauds but the wax “talked back to you”. He also said he stole three doilies from the wedding and handed them out to super fans outside.
He told his fans: “I had the best night. The food was plentiful and delicious.” Greg also joked that although most weddings provide guests with a free drink on arrival, Taylor and Travis provided the “first 10,000 drinks free”.
