Coronation Street return ‘sealed’ for Gail Platt as daughter Sarah arrested for 𝐦𝐮𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐫
Coronation Street viewers are predicting the return of a beloved character after spoilers confirmed that Sarah Platt is facing a prison sentence for the murder of Theo Silverton. Back in April, abuser Theo (James Cartwright) was killed following the exposure of his campaign of terror against Todd (Gareth Pierce), triggering yet another whodunnit storyline on the long-running ITV soap.
The roster of suspects comprised Todd, Christina Boyd (Amy Robbins), George Shuttleworth (Tony Maudsley), Summer Spellman (Harriet Bibby), Gary Windass (Mikey North) and Danielle Silverton (Natalie Anderson). It was ultimately disclosed, however, that Sarah (Tina O’Brien) had been responsible for Theo’s death after she struck him with a metal pole atop the scaffolding. Sarah seized the pole and delivered a blow to his head, sending him plummeting over the edge of the scaffolding and crashing to the ground below.

Sarah subsequently enlisted Gary’s assistance in concealing the crime, and ever since, she has been desperately struggling to keep the dark secret buried. This week, however, Sarah buckled under the pressure, confessing the truth to her boyfriend and police officer Kit Green (Jacob Roberts), reports the Daily Star.
Furthermore, spoilers for the coming week have revealed that Sarah is set to be arrested and imprisoned in a dramatic twist, strongly suggesting her departure from the show is imminent.
As the week gets underway, it quickly becomes apparent that the evidence is mounting against Sarah, as officers arrive to arrest her on suspicion of murder. Kit receives a call from Sarah at the station and does his utmost to offer her reassurance.

At the police station, Sarah insists she’s innocent. In the office, Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers) informs Kit that not only is Sarah their main suspect, but they believe he was complicit too. At the station, Lisa tells Kit they’re charging Sarah with murder and if he cares about his career, he’ll cease trying to shield her.
Subsequently, Maria (Samia Longchambon) pays Sarah a visit and berates her for dragging Gary into Theo’s death. Sarah ultimately decides to confess to a stunned Lisa about killing Theo.
Now, with Sarah facing a spell behind bars and her departure appearing imminent, fans have ‘worked out’ the comeback of mum Gail Platt (Helen Worth), who departed the cobbles in 2024 for a fresh start in France with husband Jesse Chadwick (John Thomson).
“If Sarah leaves surely Gail will come back! ?” pondered one person on a Coronation Street Facebook fan page. Someone else commented: “I thought the same.” A third remarked: “Yes surely Gail won’t stay in France if her daughter is in prison? [laughing face emoji].”
