The Kansas City Chiefs were decimated by the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX and many believe that the team’s dynasty may have ended in that game. But one Fox Sports host has a prediction for the Chiefs that even the team’s haters are laughing off.
On Friday’s edition of The Herd with Colin Cowherd, guest host Jason McIntyre predicted that the Chiefs won’t even make the playoffs in 2025. He argued that they haven’t made any significant moves in the offseason and that too many of their opponents are primed to get better for the Chiefs to make a real impact next season.
“I don’t think the Kansas City Chiefs are a playoff team next year,” McIntyre concluded.
Users on social media immediately dismissed this remark from McIntyre as a feeble effort to get some clickbait. Some noted that the exact same things have been said about the team before while others think McIntyre has simply lost his mind:
“Just really bad takes everytime. Gotta be rage bate atp,” one user remarked.
“This is just copy paste from the last 9 off-seasons,” wrote another.
“This definitely click baited me. But is this opinion even allowable?” a third wrote.
“I mean, it’s gotta be exhausting by now to continuously get it wrong. Yet, here they are back at it again. Lol.”
“Ok get this idiot off the air.”
“Stupid comment.”

While the AFC West is definitely getting tougher year after year, the Chiefs don’t seem to be affected by it. You can nitpick how they’ve won their games all you want, but the team keeps winning in the regular season by hook or by crook.
No team has even proven capable of keeping the Chiefs out of the AFC Championship Game since Patrick Mahomes became the starter in 2018.
As it stands, the Chiefs are 5-2 in the AFC Championship Game and 3-2 in the Super Bowl. They’ve gone 17-4 with Mahomes as their playoff quarterback.
The Chiefs are bound to miss the playoffs eventually, but there just isn’t enough evidence to say that 2025 is the year that it’s all finally going to fall apart for them.
Do you agree with McIntyre’s take?
