GB News’ regular programming was interrupted as presenters Eamonn Holmes and Ellie Costello announced “breaking news” following the strikes between Iran and Israel. Just hours after a ceasefire deal was announced between the countries, the broadcaster revealed that the agreement had been “broken” after the Israeli military said it had identified missiles launched from Iran.
Eamonn stated: “This is some breaking news we’re receiving, Israeli military said it had identified missiles launched from Iran towards Israel. “This is a violation of any ceasefire that they said there was, and President T.r.u.m.p said that ceasefire would last forever.” Just one day ago (June 23), T.r.u.m.p announced an imminent cessation of hostilities, hours after Iran launched missiles at a US base in Qatar. In a social media post, the US President said that Iran and Israel have agreed to a ceasefire.

On his platform, Truth Social the President penned: “On the assumption that everything works as it should, which it will, I would like to congratulate both Countries, Israel and Iran, on having the Stamina, Courage, and Intelligence to end, what should be called ‘THE 12 DAY WAR.’ “This is a War that could have gone on for years, and destroyed the entire Middle East, but it didn’t, and never will!”
In the early hours of 5am, T.r.u.m.p added: “PLEASE DO NOT VIOLATE IT!” Another post, which came after he told NBC and assured the public that the ceasefire was “unlimited” and would last “forever”.
A senior White House official told Reuters that the US leader revealed he brokered the ceasefire through conversations with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday while his team, including vice-president JD Vance, held talks with Tehran.
The official, providing details of the ceasefire on condition of anonymity, said Israel agreed to it so long as Iran did not launch fresh attacks.

“It was taken out by an interceptor with no damage, we’re told, or injuries on the ground. But still, it’s a ballistic missile, one or none.”
He added: “If none were launched, fine, we’re in the ceasefire. You launch a ballistic missile, one or a dozen, it’s a breach of that ceasefire, and we’ve seen that response already from the Israeli Defence Minister saying that he has given the go-ahead for a retaliatory strike now on Iran.”
Mark remarked: “It’s a significant strike in the heart of Iran,” before admitting, “it’s very confusing.” He questioned: “Was it a rogue general? We don’t know. It seems odd that they would be a symbolic missile strike given that both sides have seemingly accepted the ceasefire.”
